Elysia, Though we just a handful of people here as compared to all the viewers of the channel. But we are no exceptions.....we are not relatives of Mishal or the LTL team. That we have been watching the show to make them happy...nor we are biased with them. And we alone have not been bringing the TRPs up and down.

Just as We watched the show, liked for it's quality and actors. So would have many people .... It's just that we got hold of a platform to voice our views, many have not....Then why thinks that it's only us who has these opinions. Once the story takes this drastic change, many would stop watching too....I am sure. Have'nt you seen great show produced by great producers and channel go down once they infested it with filth...

@Shishma:For 10 years BT told anyone who asked-we make filth as people watch it. Thats what the audience demands. The same BT which used to have all top 20 shows in its kitty has just one top 20 show in its kitty today. That too the same show is diametrically opposite from what was BT's staple diet of EMAs and illegit kids.
In 2008 when Colors launched even BV repeats used to lapped up by viewers. The same BV is hardly managing to be in top 10 today despite all the promotions. There is a trend for everything. But people get tired of it.
Those who cannot see the writing on the wall lose out. Thats why Colors which was the no 1 channel early last year is a distant second. If they continue this way their other competitors may overtake them too.
I also believe forums like IF may not bring down ot bring up trps...but they reflect the general public mood in the long run. Becuz underneath the surface all viewers are the same whether she is a small town housewife or a laptop toting working woman. So ignore us at your own peril Colors!

It's sad but I guess every show comes down to this sooner or later.....with LTL maybe we can atleast cherish that they stayed true to their story and characters for much longer than the average show manages to which is down the drain in 4-5 months max.

Ksh makes an excellent point though about how the audience IS evolving....the writing is on the wall for those who choose to see it......the SAME crap that worked for many years in the K-shows era or more recently the BV induced village/rural shows era is NOT working anymore.

LTL was a rare gem which had HONEST and POWERFUL storytelling....

@Anu: The best way to avoid crap in a show is to restrict a show to a year. But that never happens with any popular show. LTL too would have fallen into the crap-trap sooner or later with or without MR. Fans keep watching crappy shows for the actors even as they are ardently wishing for the show to end. So that way MR is doing us a service by not sticking around just for the sake of being in the limelight or maintaining relationships with people like many actors choose to do. As viewers we are now free to watch the show on its merit(if there is any left).

Very true, Ksh......LTL was bound to fall in that trap sooner or later anyways whether MR stayed or not.....since there are always too many pressures which ruin all good shows.....in a sense yes, MR is helping us wean ourselves off of the show now...it pinches and makes you sad for a bit no doubt but I guess in hindsight he just might be doing us a favor by leaving at a point before his character can be massacred......

Show ka toh ab rab hi raakha hai.....I am intrigued to see how long any of the other characters/actors last....I doubt much.....you take away the center and everything falls.

The show seriously has no future without Dutta...I mean forget Naku...what will Baji do now? Or Kala? Or AS or Leela/Rups or even Madhu? Everything centered and still centers around Dutta. And MR has been an important team member since more than a year...Dutta and MR are really the foundation on which the structure of LTL stands.
As for ruining a show...I guess the producers are in a dilemna...if it doesnt do well they get kicked out. If the show does well the channel wants more and more and there is too much interference either way. Given that kind of pressure I am really grateful to the LTL team for sticking to its core till now.

But, Shreya, I believe that things could've been different with LTL if the channel hadn't meddled with it. The writers are really strong, they knew what they wanted with the story, I believe. I think that they had other (great) plans with the show and LTL could've stayed strong if the channel had minded their own business and let the writers drive the story.
There's so much to tell and show yet in terms of story and characters, but it's all been butchered, thanks to the channel.
