How should abusive spouses be punished???

I was watching maryada today, and there Uttara beat her husband to death, because he was an abusive SOB and had it coming. I had this flash of Gopi doing the same to Aham. Ok maybe too much because Aham is not quite as evil as Rishab was. But what really is the difference between Aham and Rishab. I guess only those who watch Maryada can answer this question truly. According to me only thing Aham hasn't done that Rishab has is he sold her to another man. But everything else not valuing her, suspecting her of crimes she did not commit, abusing her verbally, physically and emotionally, basically every other crime that a husband should not commit towards his wife aham is guilty off. So how should aham be punished. And I think that excuse oh he is under the veil of misunderstandings so he should be forgiven ship sailed long time back. This isn't about misunderstandings anymore, aham is abusive period.

Punishment for Ahem would be him pining for Gopi & realising he would never get her back. Abused woman should get out of the abuser's clutches & build up selfesteem.

I agree with Jake.She should get out of MB & get a life. She would be a wonderful social worker.

Ahem is faithful to his LOVE ( I agree not a good one but for him that is his love) he does not want to even see Gopi or any other girl...

For me it is not about him not loving her, but treating her like a human. He doesn't love her fine, that happens too, but treat her like a human being. That is why he is abusive, him being love with another woman is just a lame excuse for his abusive nature. I think Gopi would have been content if he atleast treated her well, she would not have asked for more.

I agree that Gopi has nobody. She is alone. It is a scary world to be all alone. That is why you need education, because then you have something to fall back on. I agree with the previous post, she would be an excellent social worker. She has so much love to give others, and on top of that her life experience of an abused person, she can help others thru their pain, compassion and understanding can help heal lot of wounds. I hope whatever Aham gave Gopi, he gets back with interest. She should leave him and never go to back to a man like him.

All the time all you hear is je Ahem ji give him attitude back the way he gives her and not be treated like he ownes here because he does not. She need to become more assertive of what is going on around her and become hosair like koki ha said to her.

Get herself an educatio and give attiude back tit fot tat as they say jaisi karni waise barni for my Modi that is what he deserves.

gopi should leave MM, get an education, leave Aham find a more deserving man if no one atleast learn to live for herself. all this needs to happen but show is going completely ulta direction where nothing like this will happen except in her dreams. for aham how should he be punished. i think the kind of man he is, being left alone sounds like a punishment for us, but for him it won't mean anything, because he would see no difference. the only way to hurt a man like aham is to crush his false pride, without their pride they are nothing and then he should be alone, that is when it will hurt him. he thinks only he can reject gopi, but if gopi rejected him that would teach him a lesson.
