How was the experience dancing in Jhalak Dikhla Jaa? Jhalak as a show is very interesting. It taught me a lot about dance and life. The experience was quite enriching for me as a person and dancer. It helps you shed your inhibitions |
Do you feel like a dancer now? Not at all. I still feel I need to learn more and hone my dancing skills further. The show gave me confidence as a performer for sure. My stance in the show got over too early for me to feel like a dancer. I was genuinely learning a lot. The show is about non dancers and it was a great opportunity for me. I learnt a lot. Nonetheless, I will definitely continue learning dancing. I won't leave dance for anything in the world. |
Which do you think was your best performance? My best was yet to come. The day I got eliminated I was to give my best ? according to me that is. The dance I had rehearsed involved bungee jumping air act and it was superb. I was upset that I couldn't do it. I wish I had got the chance to perform. It would have blown away the audiences and judges. But Que Sera Sera? |
Which was the toughest performance? All of them were tough. As I am a non dancer, every week the challenge would feel like a mountain and would try to overcome all obstacles. I had never learnt any of these dance forms, so whatever was asked of me seemed tough. I would feel 'oh god, nothing can be tougher than this week' and then I would dance and feel great and next week feel challenged again. I think the blindfold act was toughest of all the performances I did. |
Which is one compliment that you will cherish from Jhalak? I will always remember Madhuri's compliment that I express emotions well and that my expressions were fantastic. I was giddy with joy when she said that. Imagine a person of her stature being so genuine and praising you. I felt on top of the world. | |||

Tell us about your interaction with Madhuri Dixit. We didn't get much time to interact with Madhuri or anyone else as we all were busy rehearsing, shooting our shows and Jhalak too. But what little I did speak to her, I felt she was a warm person. My regard for her has grown in leaps and bounds. My respect for her has increased by manifolds as she is simply very lovely and very down to earth. It was refreshing to see this attitude in a star. I adore her now after meeting her personally. |
Who is your favourite contender to win Jhalak this season? I don't know who will win the show. I don't want to take any names. The ones I think should win, might not, as Jhalak is all about surprises. But I hope that a non dancer wins this season |
Other than Sasural Genda Phool, what are your plans next? Tv show or films? Currently I am busy working on my act for STAR Parivaar Awards. I am also looking forward to my film Teen Thay Bhai releasing in April. It is directed by Mrigdeep Singh Lamba and produced by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and stars Om Puri, Deepak Dobriyal, Shreyas Talpade and me. It is a fun filled laugh riot. | |||
