Shweta Salve

Shweta Salve is an Indian model and a Television actress.

Shweta graduated from the Sophia College in Mumbai. She started her career as a model and participated in the 1999 Gladrags Mega Model contest. She started her acting career with the serial Jane Kaahan Mera Jigar Gaya Ji on Sony Entertainment Television channel. She has acted in various TV serials such as Hip Hip Hooray (Zee TV), Sansar (Zee TV), Khamosh Hai Kab Tak (Zee TV), Dil Ko Kaise Samjahye (Zee TV), Kittie Party (Zee TV), Lipstick (Zee TV) etc. She became popular with the serial Left Right Left on Sab TV channel.

Shweta played a small role in the Hindi film Pyar Mein Kabhi Kabhi (1999). She also appeared in a music video for Stereo Nation, an Indian singer and in a song from the album Karunesh.

Shweta was the first runner-up of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa - 1, a dance competition on Sony Entertainment Television channel.

She was one of the mentors of dancing reality show Dancing Queen, on Colors TV channel. Her aspirant was Aashnay. The Jodi (pair) were eliminated on February 20, 2009.

Shweta was one of the contestants of adventure reality show Fear Factor - Khatron Ke Khiladi Level 2 on Colors TV channel. She was eliminated on September 22, 2009.

Shweta Salve to co-host DID Doubles..

TellyBuzz had earlier exclusively reported about Shweta Salve being approached to host Zee TV's upcoming show, DID Doubles along with Jay Bhanushali.

The latest is that Shweta Salve has been finalized as host of the show. Another name that was in the reckoning is Surveen Chawla.

When contacted, Shweta Salve told us that she has no idea.

However, Ashish Golvalkar, Non-Fiction Head, Zee TV confirmed the news and said, "Yes, Shweta Salve is confirmed. She will be hosting DID Doubles along with Jay".

DID Doubles premiers on 31st December at the 9.30 PM slot, and will be aired every Friday and Saturday. Mithun Chakraborthy will continue to be the Grandmaster while the show sees a new panel of judges in Geeta Kapoor, Rajeev Surti and Marzi Pestonji.

Guess Zee TV is all geared up for its new 'Dance' season..

Shveta Salve it is, for DID Doubles!

We had recently reported that Shveta Salve and Surveen Chawla had been approached to co-host Dance India Dance Doubles with Jay Bhanushali. The news is Shveta has now confirmed for the same.

The channel had approached Shveta sometime back and things were finalized this week. The channel though had approached a few others was keen on Shveta doing the show.

We tried calling Shveta but she didn't take our calls. Ashish Golwalkar, Head, Non Fiction Zee confirmed the news.

Dance India Dance Doubles is set to go on air on December 31.
