Ok, here is a fun contest I thought of!

We can all see how grovelling Bharti is - even today, in face of all the insults her father took from Murli, she still did her best to prevent him from throwing Murli out. Can't go much deeper.

I was interested in knowing if she's the worst doormat ever, or are there others who beat her even more? I've listed some above - all from Imagine shows. However, if there are others you think deserve a (dis)honorable mention, feel free to check the Other option above, and then mention the character & serial you think is the worst. I just mentioned the ones I saw, and was aware of. Also, they may be from other channels as well, not just Imagine!

Oh, & multiple options enabled, if you think more than one deserves the award.

Granted, some of the candidates I mentioned above became strong later, but were complete doormats to start w/, like Santo, Jyoti, Preeti.

I only watched Jyoti after her divorce never caught it from the beggning and i saw Swara from the start but she later went on to be ok

Right now for it has to Bharati, i really dont understand her, if Murli can lie and say all those things to protect his family then why cant she stand up for her family

Today just was too much after hearing all those insults from Murli she stil tried to stop her father i was so angry i felt like smashing my computer screen, ho much more is she going to take??

She isnt going to do nothing so now the dwarf community is going to get involved...seriously? is she that stupid that she constantly needs people to speak on her behalf or back her up all the time?

i voted for suman 😊 ..she is the most peevish one 😡
& preeti and jyoti are not complete doormats i think....

still i dnt feel bharti is a doormat....she is just showing kindness to murli's family coz of bhansi's condition especially......she knows murli's family accepted her wholeheartedly ..they never illtreated her...tensions started only after she cancelled veena's wedding...so once they come to know what she did was correct they will show her the same affection...so may be she feels it is unnecessary to punish them.....it was rupesh who took drastic steps and sabotaged everything....& murli also though he never loved her he saved her from fire and fought for her in shimla..she might be grateful to him as well....so though her marriage breaks she can have a good friendship with murli and his family....

one person whom bharti must curse is her own father 😡

Jyoti was a doormat for Bhairavi during her marriage, and if you saw her only after divorce, that too was ugly enough - she was worshiping Pankaj and doing pujas on his b'day, despite his treating her like dirt and questioned the legitimacy of her baby. Doormat enough for me. Not to mention her forcing Kabir to move in w/ his family if he wanted to marry her, and trying to prevent Pankaj from being beaten up even though he started stalking her despite her marriage to Kabir.

Preeti was a doormat b4 that 🤬 of an amma-ji, although to her credit, she did become assertive later on and stopped taking crap from her devrani.

As for Suman, she was a very good example. Like she had no probs w/ Kartik marrying Nihu, herself marrying Tanmay to save Kanchan's 'marriage', doing favors to Nandini, but she showed what she could do when it came to others' rights i.e. punishing Nihu for framing Kartik, slapping Tanmay for beating up Kartik, slapping Nandini for trying to embezzle the family and even turning on Karan.

This is a common trend amongst doormats - you know they're capable of fighting, b'cos they fight just fine for other people. Jyoti was a sher when fighting Brij for Sushma, fighting Sumer for Asha & even Harmukhi for Reshmi, but rarely stood up for herself against Padma, Bhairavi or Harmukhi. Swara stood up for KK against Aditya & his dad, but never for herself. At the end, she insisted that Ragini, the vamp of her ex sasural, tie the knot, over the objections of her ex FIL.

Even Bharti - I agree that her behavior yesterday was actually mature, and not doormat, but she too, did fine fighting for Veena. Only thing I didn't like about her was her tolerating Murli's abuse of her dad, when she can see that her dad can't tolerate any insults towards her.

I just hate this forgiveness trend - I want a thorough punishment. Oh, I forgot to add to the above list - Jamuniya. Just hope that Nirupama in the new serial ain't a doormat.

well i go for jyoti... the reason she was a doormat for padma... she could never speak in front of padma & then she became a doormat for bhairavi. forget bhairavi for sometimes, let's forgive jyoti couldn't go against anyone at her sasural but at her own house she had no guts to say a single word against padma...

btw the same theory applies for all. the girls were doormats at their sasural but jyoti at her maayaka.

i don't know about swara as i wasn't an audience of sarvagun sampanna.
