Just before Moody turns Draco into a ferret Harry has a confrontation with him and pushes him. In the first shot right before Harry pushes him they are almost face to face. Cut to behind Harry after he pushes him and Draco has been pushed back several feet. Cut to behind Draco just as Harry says 'he's vile and cruel' and they are now almost face to face again. When Filch fires off the cannon for Cedric to go face his dragon in the first task, you see Karkaroff standing on Krum's left (viewer's right). In the next shot, the close-up of Cedric, Karkaroff is now on Krum's other side. In the scene where Harry is in the Pensive, a woman sits down behind Harry. In the following shot (as Dumbledore shakes hands with someone through Harry), she sits down again. During the first task, Harry hides behind a boulder; the Horntail shoots some rather substantial fire at the boulder, which glows from the heat, but none of that heat seems to affect Harry, who's right against the glowing rock. After the 3rd Task as Moody is taking Harry back into the school, the camera cuts back to the students. We see Viktor Krum and the Bulgarians and Neville on the right side. One shot later, we see a girl with Neville on the right again. Later on, we see that girl near Ron and Hermione and other students (not the Bulgarians); Neville is out of place during these shots. After Wormtail performs the Avada Kedavra curse and then raises the "bone of the father," he places Voldemort's wand inside the left side of his coat, before he slices off his right hand. When Voldemort says, "My wand Wormtail," Wormtail retrieves the wand from the right side of his coat. On the Hogwarts Express, when Harry writes "Sirius Black" on the envelope it is written in thick black ink. However, in the next shot when the envelope is in Hedwig's beak, the name is written in thin ink, and the writing differs. After Beauxbaton's entrance into the dining hall, Fleur bows in a close-up with the wood platform directly behind her, and then Dumbledore kisses Madame Maxime's hand. In the next shot, when Dumbledore quickly runs up onto the platform to introduce Durmstrang, there is a white mark on the wood which he promptly stands on. This mark is not on the platform in either the previous or following shots. When Dumbledore is about to introduce the other schools and Filch comes running through the great hall, he runs past Ron twice on his way up to the podium. The first time Ron is sitting up and his head turns as Filch runs past. As Filch continues to run, he passes Ron again, who this time has been lying his head on his arms on the table, and sits up as Filch runs past. After Draco is changed back into a boy (from a ferret), Moody sticks his staff into the ground before he chases Draco around the tree. Initially his staff is leaning at a 45 degree angle, but when Draco comes around the tree and leaves the courtyard, the staff is standing perfectly straight. During the second task, just as Krum and Hermione pop up from underwater and Krum's sharkhead disappears, in this specific shot Fleur (NOT another Beauxbaton student) stands on the platform in the background and her hair is fairly dry, blowing a bit in the wind. However, in a following close-up, Fleur's hair is soaked and stringy. As the Horntail nears during the challenge, when Harry clings to the window frame, the characteristics of the broken windowsill he stands on changes depending on camera angle. (Not due to more breakage.) At the first challenge, just before the Horntail makes its appearance, there is a tight close-up of the egg as Harry stands in the stone "doorway" in the background, on the left. Clearly it is not Daniel Radcliffe, but his stand-in (his face differs and he has a shorter, bowl-type haircut) who is standing there, for this one specific shot. In the cemetery, just after Voldemort shouts, "He's mine!" when he faces off with Harry during Priori Incantatem, in this specific overhead wide shot, which is directly over Cedric's body and the Triwizard Cup in the foreground, the Cup is only a couple of feet away from Cedric's feet; whereas in a previous wide shot, when Voldemort says, "Here you stand before me as though it were only yesterday..." both the trophy and Cedric's body are seen at the top of the screen (with the Riddle monument in between), and the Triwizard Cup is quite a distance away, at least 4-5 feet, from Cedric's body. When HRH are in the dining hall, there is a toast caddy on the table in front of Harry. Certain pieces of toast disappear and reappear, or rearrange themselves, depending on the camera angle from the start of this scene when Harry dribbles on himself, through Ron's reaction to his dress robes. During the Priori Incantatem, Harry is shown using both hands to hold his wand steady. The very next shot, however, shows him holding with just one hand, then his other hand comes up to grasp the wand as well. At the end the wound on Harry's left cheek changes from a series of small scratches when he says good-bye to Dumbledore to a deeper more singular wound when he says good-bye to Ron and Hermione. In class, when Moody writes his name, unforgivable (curses), etc., on the chalkboard, the handwriting distinctly differs in the following shots. After the Yule Ball, when Neville walks into the dormitory, his shoes hang round his neck by their laces. While he says, "You alright Harry?" in Neville's first close-up his black collar lies flat, the shoes' laces hang round his white shirt and the heels touch. In the second shot his black collar is flipped up around his neck, the shoes' laces hang round the black collar and heels are about four inches apart. Then, in the third shot it reverts back, as in the first shot. At the cemetery, when Harry is trapped at the statue, Voldemort raises his right arm and places his finger on Harry's forehead stating, "I can touch you now." While Voldemort's arm remains raised his sleeve slides down towards his shoulder, but is back up at his elbow in the close-up. He seems to have the same problem in other shots during this scene. Whilst Harry is in the bathtub in the Prefects' bathroom, the foamy bubbles on his face and body noticeably differ between consecutive shots, or disappear then reappear depending on camera angle, particularly when Myrtle is being "attentive" to him. This is not due to his moving the bubbles about. On the bridge, when Cedric speaks with Harry about the golden egg, in the shots facing Cedric the wind is blowing Harry's hair back, yet in all the shots facing Harry his hair is still. During the film, Rita Skeeter's and Harry's glasses have no lenses in some scenes. Seamus is sitting by Ron when Beaxbatons Academy and Durmstang are being introduced in the Great Hall. Then when Mad-Eye Moody comes in and Hermione is telling them who he is, Seamus is suddenly sitting by her, across the table from Ron. Ginny also moves - she's initially by Hermione, then when Seamus suddenly takes her place she's now sitting further down the table. When Hagrid stabs Professor Flitwick in the hand with his fork, the fork changes places slightly between the wide shot of them and the close-up of Flitwick's hand, even though the fork hadn't been removed yet. In the dining hall when Dumbledore says "Eternal glory, that's what awaits." it cuts to Harry and the other kids sitting at the table. Right behind Harry's seat you can see a white tape marker on the floor. In the cemetery, the gash on Harry's left cheek changes depending on camera angle, such as during Priori Incantatem when Cedric says, "Take my body back..." and then when Lily says, "Sweetheart, let go..." When Hagrid accidentally stabs his fork into Professor Flitwick's hand, in the first and second shots you can see that it is only resting on the skin and not in the hand. When Harry sends Sirius the letter from the train shouldn't his hair and clothes be flapping because of the wind from the train moving? When the students are dancing to The Weird Sisters at the Yule Ball, Viktor Krum can be seen at the back of the group, jumping up and down, with Crabbe/Goyle jumping up and down behind him with his hands on Krum's shoulders. Immediately after, however, Krum is seen dancing with Hermione, and Crabbe/Goyle has disappeared, with no time to move between shots. When Harry is on the Hogwarts Express it is apparent that his scar is missing or very much out of place. Then during the second task, when Harry is swimming, the same thing happens. Straight after the second task Hermione wraps her own white towel round Harry, but between shots it jumps back to her shoulders, then back to Harry's several times. There is a scene where Harry is holding the letter from Sirius and we can hear Sirius's voice reading the letter. The words on the letter are different from the words we hear Sirius reading. Particularly the end where Sirius says, "P.S. The bird bites" the letter says, "By the way, the bird bites." In the Prefects' bathroom, when Harry is in the bathtub, just before Harry touches the golden egg and then when he puts his hand on it, both the egg's and his hand's positions differ between shots. In the dining hall, when Dumbledore speaks to the students about the Triwizard Tournament, Hagrid is prominently seen in the background, but it's clearly not Robbie Coltrane in some of these shots and in other scenes throughout the film. In a number of shots within various scenes, the reflections of the reflector screen and set lights are briefly visible in the lenses of characters' glasses, such as Rita Skeeter's, or in characters' eyes. Towards the end of the Yule Ball, when Ron and Hermione walk to the stairs, seated on the stairs are two girls who are comforting a third girl in the center. When Hermione shouts, "Ron you spoiled everything," the girls' positions change between shots. In the cemetery, when Harry stands trapped at the statue, the ripped sleeve and arm cut are visible as his hands grasp the sickle handle, and they both differ between shots. After Harry overhears Snape and Karkaroff, when Snape confronts Harry and mentions the Gillyweed, the shelves behind the ladder in the store room are quite visible. Once Snape finds the bottle of Veritaserum things behind the ladder differ. After Fred and George drink the aging potion, when the twins jump over Dumbledore's Age Line, in this overhead shot Hermione sits at the edge of the long bench, with the closed book and crossed legs. Yet, in the next shot, as Fred and George begin congratulating each other, Hermione sits a few feet away from the edge, still with the closed book and crossed legs. (This is before she moves her seat and opens her book.) In the scene when Dumbledore reveals the three Triwizard Champions, they show Harry sit down on one of the bleachers by the wall, along with Hermione, Ron, and either Fred or George. When we see Dumbledore again, both Fred and George are now sitting down at a table in the background. When Fred or George passes the note to Ron during the study hall, the style of writing on the note changes between shots. The number of lines it took to write the sentence changes from four to three. At the Quidditch World Cup, just as Ron, Fred, George and the rest reach the top, when one twin shouts, "Come on" in the shot facing them, the Irish zoom between Ron and Cedric, as Ginny stands beside a twin. However, in the next shot from behind, as the Irish still zoom by, Ginny now stands on the opposite side, where Cedric was. (Clearer on full screen.) While Sirius speaks with Harry in the common room, the sweater at the corner of the couch changes position during this scene. When Harry takes a bath in the Prefects' bathroom, the robe behind him repeatedly changes position throughout the scene. In class, when Moody shouts, "And hears across classrooms!" he throws the chalk at Seamus, and the way Seamus ducks over his desk noticeably differs between the two shots; he first leans down on his right arm, then on his left. In the dining hall, when Hermione begins reading Rita Skeeter's article mentioning the Hungarian bon-bon, the newspaper and Hermione's fingers change position between the semi close-up and close-up. In the scene after the old caretaker is killed, Ron is seen sleeping on the bed and as Hermione is about to wake him up his arms change position. His right hand is first resting on the pillow, when it cuts it's under the pillow. When Fred and George pass Ron the note in the Great Hall encouraging him get a date before all the good ones are gone, the writing is on the top of the page. When Ron reads the note, it appears that the writing is a bit lower on the sheet of paper. When the Goblet of Fire is about to reveal who the three champions are the clock strikes 9. But if you listen carefully while Dumbledore is talking it only rings 8 times. During the Hungarian Horntail challenge, the dirt smudges on Harry's face noticeably change in consecutive shots, within the same time frame. When Mr. Weasley, HRH, and the rest reach the boot Portkey, to take them to the Quidditch World Cup, in the first close-up of the boot (with the sky behind it) there are many very tall blades of grass on the mound around it. In the next shot, just as they start to encircle the Portkey there are much less single tall blades - before anyone has had a chance to stomp on them. At the Quidditch World Cup, when Cornelius Fudge welcomes everyone, the way he is holding the wand to his throat differs in the two shots facing him and the shot from behind. At the Yule Ball, when Harry, Ron, Padma, Parvati, and eventually Hermione, are sitting at the table, Ron's awful dress robe is lying on the table behind him, and it changes position between shots. After Barty Crouch Jr. says, "I'll show you mine, if you show me yours," when Dumbledore grabs Harry's injured arm, the wound and the way he grips Harry's arm differs between shots. In the common room, when Harry meets with Sirius, there are a stack of logs at the left of the fireplace which differ between shots. When Harry is with Neville at the lake, Hermione, Ron and Ginny walk over. Then, as Hermione approaches Harry, her striped scarf noticeably changes position around her neck in consecutive shots. When Hermione is walking over to wake up Ron she places a candle on the table. When it cuts the candle has moved closer to the edge of the table. After Harry overhears the conversation between Snape and Karkaroff, Snape holds up the small glass bottle of Veritaserum while he accuses Harry of stealing from his store of ingredients. The way Snape holds the bottle repeatedly differs between the close-ups facing Harry and close-ups facing Snape. When Dumbledore walks into Harry's dormitory, joking about setting fire to the curtains, the position of the clothing, etc., on Harry's bed differs between shots. In the dining hall, when Ron unwraps the box with his awful dress robes and "bonnet," the position of the wrapping, box, etc., differs between shots. When Dumbledore, Barty Crouch, and the rest are in the Triwizard champions' tent, as Madame Maxime stands behind Fleur with her hands on Fleur's shoulders, in Fleur's close-up it is rather apparent that they are not Frances de la Tour's hands. In the Triwizard champions' tent, after Fleur picks her dragon, in the overhead shot Fleur looks up as Madame Maxime stands directly behind her, with her hands on the champion's shoulders. However, in the next shot Madame Maxime leans over as she stands toward Fleur's left, and her hands are off the shoulders. During the Tournament's first task, Harry runs behind the large rock formation to hide from the Horntail. After he's summoned the Firebolt, as he's crouched down, there is a semi close-up of Harry, then it cuts to a close-up, and the position of his red and black hood on his shoulders noticeably changes between these shots. When Harry opens the letter from Sirius Black he throws the thread that was tied around the letter. When it cuts the thread is back in his hand. When Rita grabs Harry to interview him, in the next shot, as the Quick-Quotes Quill springs up, the paint can, brushes, etc are on the steps. Their positions change in the Quill's first close-up, as it writes in the notebook. When Frank Bryce places the silver water kettle on the flame, the round ceramic lid rests on the counter, beside the small ceramic teapot. However, in the next shot, as Frank steps toward the sink, the ceramic lid is actually
on the small teapot. When the Horntail is out for Harry's blood, in the overhead shot, as he hangs on the window frame his sleeve is pulled up showing his bare arm. However, in the next close-up as he still grips the frame, his sleeve is tucked tightly into his glove. During the scene where Harry is in the Prefects' bathroom after he has submerged the golden egg in the water, his hair keeps changing positions as he's talking to Moaning Myrtle. Harry's hair changes position in consecutive shots, during other scenes in the film as well. In the scene right before the champions enter the maze, we see Cedric Diggory hugging his father. When they pull away, Amos says something like "That's my boy", but his lips aren't moving. When Harry falls into the Pensieve and sees Dumbledore, he leans towards him. In the next shot, he is noticeably further away. Dumbledore wears a thin silver strand, with dangling silver balls, tied round his beard throughout the film, and the position of this strand differs in consecutive shots, depending on the camera angle. For example, when Dumbledore stands beside the pensieve, whilst speaking with Snape, McGonagall and Moody. After Frank places the kettle on the burner, when he steps in front of the sink in the wideshot, the window is behind the sink, in front of Frank. There are plants on the sill that reach the window handles. However, after Frank sees the mansion light and puts the teapot down, in the close-up of the window the center plant is gone and the left plant is different. After Hermione wakes Harry, she places the candle down beside Ron, whilst he sleeps with both arms stretched out before him. However, as she wakes him, his arms are near his head, with his right arm snuggled under the pillow beneath his head. When Harry is attacked by a multitude of Grindylows he sustains numerous injuries, particularly the one on his jaw and neck. The position and characteristics of that wound repeatedly change in the following shots. After being knocked off his broom by the Horntail, when Harry falls from the first window to the one below, tiles break off leaving a few askew. However, in some following shots the tiles are back and straight. When Harry returns from the cemetery, there's a shot of him lying over Cedric's body. When Dumbledore reaches out to put his hands on Harry's face, Harry's left shoulder is higher while he rests his weight on his right arm. The scene cuts to a rear view, and his right shoulder is now higher. When it cuts back to a front view, his left shoulder is once again in the higher position. After the Dragon Chase, Harry has the use of both arms in the scene where he opens his egg and makes up with Ron, yet his arm is in a sling in the following scenes - where Ron opens the box with his dress robes in, and for the dance lesson. Right before the third task, Igor Karkaroff puts his hands on Krum's shoulders. In the next shot, however, his hands are off his shoulders and he is standing a respectable distance away. This change continues throughout the rest of the scene. The amount of thick white eyebrow hair just over Moody's magical eye differs in various consecutive shots of him throughout the film. It goes from some hair being caught under the eye's casing, to all of it being over the casing, and vice versa; such as when he begins to feel the effects of the Polyjuice Potion diminishing, and he looks in the cabinet. When Barty Crouch places the chalice on the table he has his hand under the piece of cloth lying on top of it. When it cuts to Dumbledore you can see Barty in the background with his hand outside the cloth. After showing the three unforgivable curses Moody comes down the stairs to Neville and says, "Son, are you alright? Come on, we'll have a cup of tea." However, when he says, "Come on" his mouth isn't moving. When Ron enters the common room Harry places himself at the edge of the couch. When it cuts he has moved further in on it. When Dumbledore reveals the scar Wormtail made on Harry's arm the blood around the scar differ in the next shot. In the scene when Harry is talking to Sirius Black in the fire, Sirius has a large piece of wood below his right nostril in all of the close-up shots. But in the shots that are farther away, there is no large wood piece, and instead there is a smaller one that is on fire. After Harry comes out of the pensieve, Dumbledore stares straight ahead while he is talking, as if Harry is clear across the room, rather than looking directly at Harry. In the next shot, however, Dumbledore's body is turned slightly, and he's leaning down, looking directly at Harry, yet no time has passed. During the first part of the movie, Moody doesn't have a eyebrow over his Magic Eye, it is clear because you can see the stitch marks. Then when he is talking to Harry he has a bushy white eyebrow where there wasn't one before. Before the start of the third task, when the champions make their appearance, the band is playing in the stands. The sounds of the bass drum are not entirely in sync with the girl who is pounding the mallets on that bass drum. The flames in the Goblet of Fire, despite appearing robust, do not cast any shadows in the scene where the Durmstrang students put their names into it. There is a medium shot with the Goblet on the far left of the screen and people to the right. The only shadows are from a window offscreen. When Fred or George says "Sounds like the Irish has got their pride on", right before Arthur enter the tent, we see him swinging a pillow to his right ready to hit. When it cuts to Arthur entering, he has his pillow to his left. When Harry wakes up after having his first nightmare the pillow under his head change position in the next shot. At the Yule Ball, Hermione's hair is done up with the long curl at the back, and at times that long curl is either in front of her shoulders or at her back depending on camera angle. Additionally, even when her hair is normal, it changes in some consecutive shots throughout the film. When the TriWiz chalice is revealed the camera zooms in on the chalice and you can see there is no one standing near it. When it cuts Igor is suddenly standing right behind it. When Harry is to meet Sirius in the common room the camera moves in on him as he walks towards the newspaper lying on the chair. You can see a table there as well with two books on it. When it cuts the books has been replaced with several other items. When Moody has turned Draco into a ferret, McGonagall shows up asking what he is doing. Behind her Harry is holding onto his bag's strap. His hand's position on the strap changes in the next shot. When Voldemort says "I'd introduce you, but rumor has it you're almost as famous as me these days" to Harry, we see Harry resting his chin on the statue's sickle. When it cuts he has his chin lifted from it. When Harry returns with Cedric's body he says "He's back. Voldemort is back". When it cuts Dumbledore suddenly has got his hand behind Harry's head. It wasn't there in the previous shot.
When Voldemort pushes Cedric's face with his foot, his foot's placement on Cedric's face change in the next shot.
