What is constructive criticism?

I have found many messages here which says "only constructive criticism is allowed". I am not sure what is defined as Constructive criticism. I have found that the fans cannot withstand any type of criticism for their favorite contestant. So I really fear to put any topic which criticises a good contestent, thinking about the reaction of their fan club.

Another thing I have noticed that, any topic which compares between two contestants, is not taken wisely by the fans. Some of the boring comments are like "You cannot compare amongst them because both of them are great". Come on… this is a competition and we have to compare amongst them and analyze who is better on what and where is the scope for improvement. Otherwise this forum will be nothing but an array of fan clubs where any criticism may tagged as "not a constructive criticism" and only goody goody words about their favorite contestants are allowed

I think constructive criticism was what you saw in fame gurukul.inspite of

trained singers like arijit, arpita, kirti, rupu etc...people who started

late..like qazi or rex..really sparkled.the judges KK,shankar ,javed akhtar

never humiliated any one."kitne pyaar se samjhate the".in every

episode, they improved in leaps and bounds.they criticised (gently) arijit

for not connecting with people but after "asique banaya" and dus ke

dus, there was no room for complaint.

mona bhat was very introverted(javed kept telling her not to hold

back)...atfer that she glowed with "jaadu hai nasha hai" or baras ja e

badal baras jaa" etc,etc..

every one improved in FG.that is constructive criticism.. 😊 it added to the

confidence of singers and not the other way round.

i don't want to bring FG in II but i have to reply here.

i disagree with you shamit was humiliated by JA. poor guy had to hear so many things in FG inspite of him being an excellent singer. i don't think calling someone b***a and politician is constructive criticism. in my opinion JA was an immature judge. i never expected this behavior from him.

I agree with u Anjali.Nair. JA is the worst judge. He was biased and totally rude to Shamit. There is a difference between giving "constructive criticism" and just being mean! JA was beyond mean. He was cruel!!!

Well, if someone is going to post something telling a certain set of fans what they can and can't call their favorite contestant (referring to the post: Amey fans please accept the reality) please don't be surprised at the reaction you get. If someone wants to call their favorite their 'idol', be it any fan, its not a point to argue and harp over IMO. It has nothing to do with being tolerant. If its an argument that has some point, I'm sure lots of people won't mind debating and discussing it.

If you believe in contrustive criticism and 'interesting' replies, please do the same instead of posting one liners like ''so-so' is overated and 'so-so other' is a better singer'. Give some concrete and sensible reasoning to prove your point and then people will take your argument seriously and in the right stride. We can have a good debate but there's no point if its only one-sided. I suggest going back to the overrated post and reading some of the posts. I think they do an apt job at arguing the topic at hand, with some good evidence and reasoning. But we haven't heard your views yet. The topic is open and ready to be replied to. 😊

Personally, I enjoy defending my favorites so bring on the constructive criticism. 👍🏼

I agree.😊.but sometimes thoughts are put across in an agressive manner and the other person becomes defensive...and then both sides become intolerant(even normally level headed people).
