Sandeep should have been out. Apart from Karunya, neither Sandeep nor Anuj have proper harkats in their voices, they both have a strong and steady voice. But it is my opinion though Anuj has problems with his landing notes, his range is exceptional. He can sing some really high pitched songs, and that cannot be taught. You either have range or you do not. Gurus can help you open up your voice but to a certain extent, Anuj's range is incredible as many of you should agree.
With Sandeep he is a good singer, but he is a xerox copy of Udit Narayan, and to me an idol have an original voice, something new, which both Karunya and Anuj have. Anuj has his defects, but they are his defects, and he does not copy anyone. I wish it was between Anuj and Karunya, but in the end I would want Karunya to win, as he is the best, and I am not a Karunya fan. I am an Amey fan, but I just hope justice is done and Karunya wins it all. I am terrified at the thought that Sandeep could be the next idol. I feel that India is voting for Udit Narayan and not for Sandeep. Imagine having to listen to Udit Narayan's songs in movies and for a breath of fresh air you turn to the private album section and find Sandeep imitating Uditji in Indian Idol albums, come on people where is the fun in that.
Based on pure talent, if Karunya loses, then he has underachieved and if Sandeep loses, he has overachieved by far, there were some talented singers who lost because of regionalism. If these singers were put on the SAREGAMA stage, Sandeep would not even make it past the qualifiers.
So come on people lets crown Karunya our next idol, he deserves it!
