Alisha was paid only Rs 15000 for Kajrare re...!

In these days where brand value of Rahman is up to 5 crores for a 2 minute song, eminent singers like Sonu Nigam and others are paid less than Rs 40 000 per song.

That's such a pity! Even popular artists are paid hardly anything. I wonder how much these newcomers get then. I guess what happened with Alisha must be happening with many singers: They don't get royalty for their song. It's sad b/c over here (Hollywood) the singer always get royalty for their song(s).

That is sad.... but that's also a simple economics of supply and demand.....nobody will pay a premium if there is no scarcity......Way back Lata Mangeshkar tried to get all the singer to unite on that front. The efforts made it somewhat better, but mostly, the business and economics won.
