The Indian Janta have sent 1,34,00,484 votes. Which means they have spent Rs.3,42,01,452 to choose their Indian Idol.

Sony must be extremely pleased!

Well, people in India consider this as normal digits. Because we were smarter then westerners, we categorized amounts in more categories then westerners because it is easy this way.

Same goes with date format: MM/DD/Year for west and DD/MM/year for India and many other parts of world. I think Indian system is much better because first digit is days, which changes most frequently followed by month which changes less frequently and last is year which changes just once every year.
