He is the maximum male of the small screen and she, the stuff that males crave for! He scorches you with his inner fire and she puts a cold compress on you with her balmy aura! He is the question and she, the answer and together they make awesome chemistry!
The 'Pavitra Rishta' Jodi - Sushant Singh Rajput (Manav) and Ankita Lokhande (Archana) - has that 'made-for-each-other' halo around them, which makes you feel elated just by seeing them together. It was a delightful vision to see them sitting side by side at The ITA Awards ceremony. Both had performances to be staged at the event ' Ankita making hearts miss a beat by her Laavni Latke-jhatke and Sushant exploding on the stage with a thudding patriotic fervour that had eyeballs popping out! Both the Acts became the highlights of the event!
That over, the time now came for some butterflies in the stomach!
Eh, did we say, 'Some'? Well, actually, it should be 'lots' of butterflies in the stomach, because the time was inching towards the moment when the results of the categories, in which the two of them featured as being in the Top-4, were to be announced.
While Sushant was locking horns with Arhaan Behl (Mann Kee Awaaz' Pratigya), Mishal Raheja (Laagi Tujh Se Lagan) and Karan Wahi (Dil Mil Gaye) for the 'Best Actor-Drama (Popular)' category, Ankita was vying for The GR8! Face (Female) with Ratan Rajput (Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo), Rati Pandey (Mile Jab Hum Tum) and Jennifer Winget (Dil Mil Gaye) ' all with scintillating screen presence!
The categories had been put to an extensive Popular Poll by The ITA and GR8! and this year, the votes had been polled in Lakhs. Now, what chunk of these Lakhs had gone which contender's way was to be declared, today.
Flashing brave smiles, all the nominees were at their pretending best as if winning or losing wouldn't mean the world to them and they could take both hit or miss in their stride.
But trust us, these Yogiwaali airs were just a faade and they were often given away by those restive shuffles, those deep heaves and that anxiety welling up in their eyes every now and then.
Still, the show of the 'cool' continued!
Much was at stake for Sushant and Ankita! They really needed the reassurance of an ITA honour that could give a tremendous fillip to their self-belief. Drinking in the pageantry of the night, they sat there as picture-perfect, but that edgy, fidgety streak was very much in evidence, if you chose to look closely enough.
However, on the face of it, they, too, were striking the perfect notes by the way of whopping cheers for the various winners or those giggles & guffaws at the pun & fun of Manish & Mantra (Anchors) and those zappy reactions to the acts on the stage. It seemed they didn't have a care in the world!
And suddenly, presenters Anu Kapoor and Apoorva Agnihotri were called to announce the winner of the GR8! Face (Female) and just as they took to centre-stage, the AV's started rolling for the Top-4's'
