The latest victim of set accidents is Saat Phere's Tara.

Ashlesha Sawant, who plays the role, narrowly escaped a major injury when the light from a cutter stand came loose and fell on her head. Sawant was sitting on a chair with her back to the stand when it fell.

Between shots

"It happened suddenly. One moment, I was sitting quietly, the next, my head was covered in blood." It was a normal day at shoot for her, and Sawant was relaxing between shots. "It must have been loose, as usually, they are careful with the equipment. It hit me so badly, I blacked out for a moment."

Ashlesha was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was treated for her injuries. "I have an immense pain in my head, lower back and neck. I have been popping painkillers and surviving. But I think the situation is much better now."

Bed rest

The actress has been advised complete bed rest. "I recently got a CT scan done. Thankfully, the results were normal, but I will be getting another done in a week."

Till then, Sawant is relaxing. "My production guys have been really understanding. They have asked me to rest and take care of my health."

Cutter stands are used to diffuse and change the direction of lights.

They reduce harshness and give the person a different look on screen.

Usually, they are made of heavy iron and have clips in the back. One finds them useful when dramatic scenes are required.

Cutters are heavy. Usually, these stands are kept away from the actors so they don't get hurt. A majority of the sets these days have first aid available.

Jassi's injury

Incidentally, a few months back, Mona Singh hurt herself in a similar fashion when a cutter fell on her head. The actress was rushed to a nearby hospital and recovered in a few days
