Maryada in real life

I was just watching Crime Patrol and today the episode was about a woman called Rajshri, who's Husband used her as a sex slave. He basically made her sleep with his brothers 🤬 and business partner 🤬over a period of 6 years.

She remained quiet for that long....due to Maryada. She had sent her Mother letters about what her Husband was doing to her. Yet, the Mother never uttered a word to Rajshri's Father, because of the stupid excuse of "izzat"🤢

Only after the Dad found out was he smart enough to help his daughter lodge a FIR with the police. Through this method, they also discovered that the Husband was married before! His divorce proceedings were still taking place and he even had a kid from the first marriage! 😲 His previous wife also complained about being treated like a prostitute🤢

Currently, he has been refused Bail...and the case still continues.

So...things like Maryada DO happen and that is sooo sad.

Rajshri, just like the storyline, first remained quiet due to Maryada and then stood up for her rights due to her Maryada too.

This show is really good I believe, it forces us to accept the fact that this exists in society today. It prevents us from swiping the issues under the table...puts it up for discussion, and in a way, "de-taboos" things.

Such trash exists in our society, and the victims are afraid to clean it from their lives due to "society"...WE are society.

It's just all so sad.

I'm in Aus, and I think I caught the repeat because I watched it at like 2am. Maybe try youtube? OR check out when your country airs the repeats of Crime Patrol?

such things really happens nt only in rural ares bt also in urban cities.. its just dat in urban cities ppl prefer to keep their mouth shut...

me being a sociology student have seen n also heard stories abt such cases frm da victim itself n believe me its really disgusting....

so dats y i can connect wid dis show coz i've personally interacted wid victims of such cases...

makes us mre awsre of thses things around tha world!!!

the incident which you mentioned in your post was very sad indeed but the woman should have done something about it earlier on instead of just sending letters to her mother who did absolutely nothing about it.Anyway,glad that she's ok now.It is true that people esecially women put up with such things just to make sure that their maryada is intact in the eyes of the society.

Oh my god, your interviews with the victims must be exhausting! Actually, I think most female victims remain quiet, whether in a village or city setting...but then why is it thought that this is a villager type thing I'm not sure...
