The debonair liquor baron Yug Mittal (Hiten Tejwani) of the Star daily Kkavyanjali has just acquired some female company.
Riva Bubber (Dr Kavya of Ayushmaan and Damini of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi) enters this Balaji show as Sonia to add sparkle to Yug's life.
So, will it there be that proverbial chemistry between Sonia and Yug? "At the moment I am unaware of how the track shapes up," says Bubber, who began shooting for Kkavyanjali at a Chandivali studio on Wednesday.
"Sonia is an NRI who has just returned to India and meets up with Yug," says model-turned-actress Bubber. "I will be there for a few episodes initially as my role is a cameo. Later, it all depends on how the character develops."
For Bubber, the timing of this offer is just apt as Ayushmaan on Sony has ended. As Dr Kavya, she not only played Ayushmaan's love interest but also treated his autistic brother Bodhi (Hemant).
"As I recently finished with Ayushmaan,I had time on hand. I took on this offer because it was from Balaji and it is always great to work with them," she adds.
Bubber's entry in Kkavyanjali is the most recent among other Balaji actors who have stepped into the show. Rishi (Shabbir Ahluwalia) of Kahiin To Hoga plays Vansh while Bikram Kaul (Vikram Kapadia) of K Street Pali Hill is seen as Saket in the show.
Prior to Bubber's selection, the name of Gauri Pradhan (Ganga of Kyunki) was under consideration for the role.
