The whole concept and production comes from the American Idol.
For those that have had the opportunity to watch American Idol,
how do you compare our contestants?

Well . . . the Indian Idol is like reciting nursery rhymes/ mimicking songs already sung set to a tune with very little scope for creativity . . .

Dont you think??

American Idol contestants sing with full lungs and use falsettos, yoddles and other capabilities of our vocal cords.

😛 😊 😃

I agree, somewhat. They experiment more than II2 contestants but it might be the nature of the songs and/or expectations from their audiences. If II2 conetstants veer too far from an original composition or experiment too much, their performance may not be accepted by audiences especially if the songs are recent. We do experimenting/improvising in II2 but not on such a large scale.

really? I felt singing wise, the II singers have a much much much better grasp of sur/taal...the performers in American Idol frequently lose sur...esp when they change from high to low pitch...ITS AWFUL 🤢
Or maybe they don't care about these subtle nuances in western music

And i think you're wrong. The whole idea comes from Pop Idol which started in Britain. Not American Idol.

indian music is somethin which is soothin to the ears.Indian music is much harder than other music,it involves tradition, culture as well as the identity of an Indian, although am not saying tht other country music is poor quality, its just tht i feel music has always been a very important part of indian tradition thus, singin an Indian song in India also includes certain responsibilities. 😊

hey i totally agree with you!!! Not with an intention to being mean to Westerners or anything. They make some excellent music. Their classical music is really good too!

But there is a lot of depth to Indian music. Very fine and subtle things are paid attn to. I think only Indian music has something like morning and evening raagas....Imagine that!!! I wonder at such refinement of the senses!! I rarely see it in other ppl...
