Hola! I am Amrutha, and this is my first post on this forum. I recently started watching GKD...and Oh my, what an engrossing show!

Well, I just wanted to highlight something I found very interesting in the episode aired on 27/10.
It's the place where Arpi's dad tells Avdesh that his daughter couldn't be loyal to him, so how would she make a faithful wife for Avdesh?
Well, in Shakespeare's play "Othello" the same event happens...It is a definitive moment where Desdemona's(the female protagonist) father makes that very illuminating comment...Othello remembers it later, when Iago, the villian makes him wrongly suspect that Desdemona is disloyal to him.
This really made me wonder if GKD is an adaptation of the play?
Looking back, I found several things illuminating- very strong parallels, indeed-
1) In the same way as Arpi spurned Pappu, Desdemona spurns a chap called Roderigo, her suitor.
2) Arpi elopes with Avdesh much the same way as Desdemona with Othello.
3) Othello is a famous war general- full of valour and integrity- much like our Avdesh. Don't they keep calling him "Bahubali" on the show?
In the light of the above we can safely say that the future tracks in GKD are-
1) Avdesh's mentor (Dunno her name) playing Iago and spoiling their marital life.
2)Instigated by someone else, Avdesh suspects Arpi of having an affair.
Hope I made sense...😊Sorry for d ultra long post! And has someone noticed the similarities already?

hi welcome to the forum

and i dont know othello or omkara for that matter and this point has been raised in past by a lot of members who r seeing the similarity here

and in one interview of ashish he said his character is inspired by othello

but here we all feel its indian drama so some changes wud come in future track

so far it has kept us on hooks waiting to see what happens next

as for me since i m clueless abt the two above plays or film

i enjoy it without really bothering what happens next

and the mystery remains

enjoy and join in the crazy gang here

yes i heard that part where Mahesh Rai said to Avdesh, a girl who leaves her father can leave anyone....this was inspired from Othello/Omkara...it is these words in the play that is the ultimate downfall of Othello/Omkara i fear that if Bhouji sees a little/slight doubt in Avdesh she will use that to her advantage, but in the end of it all, i don't think this will be a tragedy and GKD will have a happy ending

reg, thats not all...bhauji has already in her first convo with arpi said that mandap se bhaagkar baap ke munh par kaalikh pot sakat ho...aisi ladki ho, toh tumhaare charittar ke baare mein ...etc....so she has also already raised the bogey of character....so obv thats going to be an issue...

also, ashish said in sbs na that it is based on othello...and even if he hadnt , we were all anyway feeling that its going the othello /omkaara way down to the spurned fiancee....

i think that it's inspired by Othello/Omkara but i'm really hoping that it doesn't end in that same way😕 but then again you can't trust this Bhouji😡

Ohh..Gud post Amrutha.. I got the omkara vibes and if its not enuff they keep playing naina das lenge every episode..lol

But, i do believe we shall have a happy ending..and i already figured bahuji will try to instigate Dabang against Arpi, so nothing unexpected there for me..

However, i do feel the love story pre-elopement should have been longer.. It's so much more fun ...Now Bhaudi is there to spoil the scenes..
