When it comes to "what is love" Indian television serials still do not get it. Guy sees a girl and falls in love with her and is now ready to marry her. He doesn't know ANYTHING about her. And this very guy was going on about how his mother was living in another century and didn't want to participate in the traditional practices of going to see a girl. Well looks like our hero is living on another planet where you can automatically judge and know a person by simply looking at their face.
Very disappointing introduction. I can't imagine WHAT they can show on this drama. The storyline is weak and unoriginal. Not expecting anything from this show and it will be something that plays in the background while I cook dinner. After all it requires only 2% of your intelligence to watch. Half the time the lead characters seem to stare at one another.
Also equally disappointed with Neena Gupta's dialogue delievery. Considering she's got such an extensive acting background I was expecting better from her.

Hey there Laila ...
Sorry .. but I don't quite agree with you. I don't think there was anything 'uncreative' about the introduction. Rather, I thought it had a normal and natural flow .. not too hatke (or else it would look unrealistic) ... nor too dramatic and definitely nothing OTT about it.
I don't quite believe in the concept of 'love at first sight' .. and do think a person needs to know the other well, to come to such major decisions in life. But I don't deny it either .. I do think it happens with people ... they see someone and just know that this is the right person for him/her! Guess its called INSTINCT? If you look at it from another angle .. I like the fact that Prem knows what he wants .. he's not confused about the kind of girl he thinks is perfect for him.
Prem tells his mom that she lives in the 18th century .. and he does not believe in going to see the girl .. which was right on his part. He just said to her that he does not believe in arranged marriages ... he believes that one needs to be in love with the person to marry her. And seeing Nandini .. he fell in love .. coz he knows what he wants .. and he saw it in Nandini, in one glance.
I think it was rather cute ... And also, Gaurav just does it so brilliantly .. you can't help but believe that the character is in love! 😳
Its just been 3 episodes... I don't think we can write it off so soon. Those who have watched the original Tamil show ... say its a good concept. Now it depends on how they execute it in Hindi. According to me .. so far so good! I'm enjoying the show very much ... Gaurav just makes everything worthwhile 😳

LOL!! Does anyone really get "what is love"? It varies for each individual I guess... I believe you dont believe in "love at first sight"... no problem, but I do and I dont find it strange that he fell in love and he wants to marry her! As far as judging a person just by their face, I think its not true... the hero might have come across many a pretty face, but he "felt" a connection with the heroine... A good friend once quoted Kalil Gibran, that made a lot of sense about love at first sight - "It is wrong to think that love comes from long companionship and persevering courtship. Love is the offspring of spiritual affinity and unless that affinity is created in a moment, it will not be created for years or even generations"

So far, I've liked how the story is progressing, so I'm going to watch it. I hope there are many more viewers who think like me :)

Laila, funny running into you here...
Like you I too feel that I need to leave my brain behind when watching Indian Telly serials. Same, same with each new show. I watched the show while cooking and am willing to give it a few more episodes. If it clicks, I will continue to watch. If it does not, I am outta here. Nothing exciting left to watch on TV. No uniqueness, no substance, poor concepts and poor dialogues abound.

Laila just watched two serials, and somewhat agree with you about the how concept of love at first sight shown here.
I do believe in love at first sight, but here the circumstances and characters doesn't justify that concept. I think it was OK till Prem falling for Nandini. But he should have refrained talking it there, I mean he is shown educated and loving(loves his mom), can't he understand other girl,'s, her familiy's situation before he spoke.
Her SIL discomfort was quite obvious from when she entered the room, and right front of her MIL asking her sister's hand??? I think even Momsies (educated well known doctor) character failed.
As for actors, I think Neena G is good, GK ok so far, Nandini didn't get too many dialogs. I think Sumati shined the best so far. The girl is very cute and spontaneous and this kind of behaviour from groom's family towards her disheartened me.
As if now, I wish they get married soon and we see more mature Prem as story progresses.
I will be watching it since it is remake of south, I like the content they show.

i do not agree with the topic here... i think the show has great content, they are showing a boy who wanted to fall in love and not just marry who ever his mother picked out for him, he had not fallen in love till he saw a girl in a busy intersection... so why can he not fall in love there, if u believe in love at first sight... then thats what he experienced... he saw a girl and fell for her

it would have been easier for him if she had not been at the house he had gone to, then he could have said no to that girl and searched for the other one but when he did find her at the house, he wanted to make sure his mother knew that she was the girl he was interested in

his mother was clever enough to bring the sis in law to the side and talk to her about nandini, and if nandini had been married she would have known there and then, prems reaction then would have been a different story but right now his only concern is getting the girl he likes, is he selfish, spoiled? maybe but not unrealistic

also since we know that there is a bigger story behind the girl, this is just the filler to get to that story by showing the extent to which prem is mad about her right now will give way to a great story about how he deals with her past... i m very interested in finding out that story

Well I agree with Eksie & Tanu.......
I beleive "Love is Blind" & "Marriages are made in heaven"

Well I heard real life stories said by real Couples that they fallen in love at first sight.😳...So for me I think it is something like instincts or say 6th sense and in most of cases it is the boy who cuts the ice...well I saw it on a reality show on American channel.....Surprisingly in this country people are not conservative like in India but still they beleive in First love and I feel "Always the First Impression is the best Impression" so it comes out naturally and love is a emotion...so it can come any time.Yes love is commitment tooo ie Marriage and like Elders say love grows by each passing year stronger.❤️Since I'am married.well I can say quite confidently bcoz I have seen many relation & LOVE is Universal & it can be with your Kids too

Well in the show I did not find it odd....Prem falling for Nandini bcoz this incident happens in real life.As for Prem he is shon as stubborn, laadla, close to mom-Dad & I feel they brought this scene to show how much Prem is madly in love with Nandini...will be more interesting & dramatc when her Past is revealed ...then will be testing time of Prem's love for Nandini ...and they are capturing beautifully...well for Dr Kalyani's charecter she is straightforward & independent ...takes all decisions herself sometimes not discussing with Gautham......she is a loving mom & want best for them
In real life younger sisters are kept away when the boy comes to see the elder one....actually heard real life incident from my friends...and even my mom told real life incidents where younger ones are preferred over the older one but luckily I'am only daughter..so no probs😆

Well coming to the show...my pov is "A show should be entertaining with positive story with good morale ".Well DSDV is story between the unique loving bond shared between Saas-Bahu, so they are not dragging the story with Prem wooing Nandini...and the real concept starts after the marriage...So they are going in good pace with the story and I feel Prem is behaving like any 24 year old and well i know Marriages arranged and couples married in 3 days in India when boy works abroad...So in real life when this can happen.... why not Prem fall in love in 2 days😊

Just my POV....enjoy the show it is good...since i have seen the orginal.I can confidently say U would love the story👍🏼

Jas loved the way you said, US/UK guys married in 3 why can't Prem in love in 2 days.
For me Sumati character was too adorable and someone doing this to her, hurt me. But yes me too at this point when they don't to focus on Nandini Prem, Jab we met saga, I just want them to get married so we get to see real story and some bonding which completely lacked so far. I mean Prem was not shown with his sister or brother and already seeing girl, it is difficult to judge the character's nature.
