I am not against "fantasy" that has logic and common sense attached to it - this where I think the readers are getting confused with my post.
Every seen a science fiction movie? The point is that a story has to be creative, imaginative and have an element of wit. It has to challenge and entertain the mind at the same time. Realism does not mean watching a documentary. In the UK we have shows like Eastenders that are real, but creative and works of ficition.
Think of movies like Star Trek, Avataar - all are *fantasy* and *unreal* but they're all an attempt to be real and imaginative at the same time.
Now going back to my orginal post - the whole show is uncreative. For you guys you like the actor and it does not matter to you how the show goes or is because the actor is all that matters. That is why I wrote, you can have a test card and it would be fine. For me I need more. I couldn't watch a show with a guy with a pretty face if the storyline was poor, and that is where I differ.
Have a great day😃

Okay, I have read everyone's views here, and here is my 2 cents worth! First of all I feel a person who is not interested in the "uncreative" TV shows should not be watching those shows and commenting on them because you are spoiling it for those who enjoy it! 😕 For a person with a master's degree in relationships, I am surprised that the basic tenet of living has not been understood, Live and let live! 😕

As to the comment that we who love the show must be teenagers, let me correct you! 😛 I am the mother of a daughter in her 20s! I am romantic at heart and my daughter is not; I love such shows and watch them; she does not...😉..but she has never ever doubted my intelligence or common sense and vice versa. 😊 Live and let live is what we believe in!

As to Gaurav being eyecandy and vitamin A 😳 to some and "not a pretty face" to some, well, I agree with both views..😆....he is eyecandy to me ☺️ but not a pretty face! 😃 It is not only his looks but character and personality that charms you! 😳 But beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder and I will agree to disagree if you don't find him goodlooking! 😊

As to the story line being uncreative, is it not too early to judge that? I have not experienced love at first sight and I have not had romance in my life (which is the biggest tragedy for a die-hard romantic 😭) but I have known people who have had both and I am happy that such things exist in this world even if they are not mine! 😛 And what is Telly for? for entertainment, is it not? If the story, the actors, the visuals entertain you, then it is a successful, creative show! 👏 Different things stimulate different people, so just because you find it not creative, can you really doubt the intelligence of those who enjoy it? 😕 This is a very subjective view and not expected from a highly read individual!

For me, the charm of watching a show is experiencing things I have not experienced in real life! I do not want to see the things I see and do every day, mundane chores and realities, reflected on TV. Where is the entertainment potential then? 😕 I might as well peep into my neighbor's home for entertainment if I want reality! I like to see romance, humor, drama without being OTT, and so far nothing shown on DSDV has been OTT! The characters fit into their respective slots....and many of the actors are seasoned artistes who are giving their best. Even Vandana who is a newcomer surprised me...she is expressive and if she has not talked much, it is because her character is like that........a quiet, shy, introvert girl and she has portrayed that admirably for a newcomer! 👏

I hope you find some other show which stimuates your intellect and leave us romantics to enjoy DSDV! Let me tell you, you are missing a lot in life by not believing in romance, love at first sight and fairy tales! 😉

Wrong, Everyone has a right to watch a show and comment. If a show is good enough, then nothing I say should deter you from watching it or even ruin your fun. What you are saying is that people should not be allowed to express an opinion about a show unless it is in favor of it.

What I saw did not leave me with a favourable impression and that first show said a lot. It was uncreative. It was also not entertaining. Now it might be for you, but for me this show does not require much in the way of intelligence and that is what the writers of a number of shows who work for Zeetv have also said.

For me, the charm of watching a show is experiencing things I have not experienced in real life! I do not want to see the things I see and do every day, mundane chores and realities, reflected on TV. Since when is a realistic and believeable romance mundane?
I hope you find some other show which stimuates your intellect and leave us romantics to enjoy DSDV! Let me tell you, you are missing a lot in life by not believing in romance, love at first sight and fairy tales! 😉
Actually, I am quite a romantic but unfortunately this I did not find in the slightest bit romantic and offered my opinion. It's a free world.
So far I am looking for a good post to sell me this romance and so far no-one is selling it to me.

Everyone has the right to respond - that you should know too. 😃 And everyone has the right to watch a show and give their opinion - you cannot deny anyone that right. That's wrong. You can enjoy this show regardless of what I write. Why should what I write take you away from liking a show? I could have said the same to everyone, if you don't like my post - don't read or respond to it. But look it has had 648 views! 😆
When people present an argument, I have only counter argued that opinon and view just as it is done to me. 😃
Are you not having fun in the process?
If you like a show, it does not matter what i write. YOU should be able to counter my arguement about the show is great and explain why. That's what I am hoping to see but all I am getting is this actor is cute and give the show a chance. Someone tell me what is so great about this show. I've told you what isn't, someone tell me what is.
Why are you shocked that I have a masters degree? I might have more education than that - let's just start with the masters degree😉 and because I have one, I should like this show? Does not make sense.

I think some of you who are saying don't watch the show or don't write things that upset us, need to go to the www.imdb.com and look at a show (or film) - any show - and see the comments that are written. There are shows that I like that are torn a part but I always read the comments and I love to see how fans of the show counter argue the criticisms people make. I suggest that you go to one of many shows that I watch - Boardwalk Empire. While it received 90% favorable reviews from all major critics, there are some people who do not like the show and poke fun of it calling it "Boredwalk Empire" etc. The point is that there is ALWAYS a lively discussion and people do not get upset when people critcise the show. Some of the repsones are from rightwing Christian conservatives who take issue with the show. I give this show as an example to help people here understand how discussions can take place and also understand that everyone can watch a show but it does not mean they go out of their way to watch it - it might be on while they are cooking or someone else is watching and they want to express an opioin. That opinion should not be denied. If you don't like what I write, ignore my post but remember, there are OTHERs who might watch this show and think like me and my post will appeal to them. We should not get ourselves caught up in unncessary censorship as that stiffles all interaction, groW*H, and even take away from having fun.

I have also written to Zeetv and also have sent comments to writers whenever I can find them. Often I have found that sometimes there are writers/directors who do agree with what I say and explain that sometimes Zeetv or the existing production team wants a show to head in a different direction. Believe me, I am always wiling to give any show a fair chance this one failed from the get go.
If you're offended with my post, I will not apologize for my viewpoints of this show. I am grossly disappointed in what I saw and put this post up here to say it. You are entitled to love this show t to death, but you cannot deny my right to express how I feel about it.

😊Well coming to the show...my pov is "A show should be entertaining with positive story with good morale ".Well DSDV is story between the unique loving bond shared between Saas-Bahu, so they are not dragging the story with Prem wooing Nandini...and the real concept starts after the marriage...So they are going in good pace with the story and I feel Prem is behaving like any 24 year old and well i know Marriages arranged and couples married in 3 days in India when boy works abroad...So in real life when this can happen.... why not Prem fall in love in 2 days😊

Just my POV....enjoy the show it is good...since i have seen the orginal.I can confidently say U would love the story👍🏼

Jasmine
A lot of people like fairy stories and this is a fairy story. When we start believing in fairy stories as real and a true possiblity of life, that's when we need to be concerned. This show is far from reality and as long as you believe it you will be safe. I hope that is the case for you😉.
And you compare arranged marriages with falling in love ???? You are comparing apples with toothpaste!😕
By the way, if they wanted to make things happen fast, they could have had them show up married. Why even subject us to this stuff? A good romance, well written - NEVER drags.
And how much of this happy relationship between daughter and mother-in-law can they show? This I am curious to see as none of the shows on Zeetv have anything to do with their titles.

Look Laila ...well this happened with my friend here but here the boy likes the younger sister and asks her hand openly and that happened in India......he was stubborn I would say this as Instincts,Love at first sight .....U cannot see love but can feel or experience it😊.Here too the younger sister did not agree to the proposal,Boy's parents upset and ashamed with boy's decision....
Loved today's episode yup happens in real life where My friend got married to the boy who came to see her own elder sister...well boy works in US saw the younger one in salwar kameez serving tea asked her hand instead of the elder one.....parents shocked😲,Girl depressed, younger one crying😭,angry....but the boy stubborn,,,waited for 2 months with the same decision...then girls family agreed to this proposal but said marriage will take place after the eldest daughter gets married......now all is well with both girls married...I remembered this incident after seeing Prem....😊...so wanted to share. In the show Nandini & Sumathi are not sisters and Nandini is an orphan staying with her sis & BIL from age 12.

Well when I was your age I also thought Love at first sight don't exist and never beleived in all these .........but exp and age has taught me I was wrong.......It is same like

Do U beleive in God?
Did U See God
For both these U need to beleive in him, feel him, to see him .......and same thing goes with Love
one need to beleive in love first to see or feel it😊

And you compare arranged marriages with falling in love ???? You are comparing apples with toothpaste!😕
Well I never compared with arranged marriage or falling in love but told about real life incident which happens in real life but be it love or arranged marriage one need true love , trust to sustain the relationship. In both love & trust increases each day.
By the way, if they wanted to make things happen fast, they could have had them show up married. Why even subject us to this stuff? A good romance, well written - NEVER drags.

The Cvs want to show about Nandini's family & how she is treated in her house ....she is an orphan, how her sister's Saas treats her like a servant,Nandini-Sumathi relation,Sumathi being carefree, funloving girl but good a heart who loves Nandini. They want to show Govind's love for his family and his mature side.Well If Nandini could have fall in love with Prem at first sight I could say it a fairy tale😉 but here it is prem ad it is obivious for any 24 year old to react in such a way and he is shown as a spoiltbrat closer to parents .......and it happens in real life 😊
And how much of this happy relationship between daughter and mother-in-law can they show? This I am curious to see as none of the shows on Zeetv have anything to do with their titles.

Well married life is not bed of roses....and so are the relation.....U get to see all flavors😊

Ya me too after marriage.....true love & bonding will begin between prem -Nandini & other family members....ya Sumathi is a imp & strong charecter in orginal.....wait & watch in DSDV,Prem is cute charecter unlike orginal 😍

Just hope they don't butcher charecters🤢 ....keeping fingers crossed😊

Loved both the episodes...no dragging & I feel CVS want to go to main concept soon but with right pace
Hold on here, "true love and bonding" will begin after marriage????!!!! So what just happened, this guy didn't marry love then? And are you admiting that what happened was not LOVE and this man married a woman he didn't love or hardly know.
Also, this idea that true love and bonding happens aftewards actually is not love. It's called, I'm married with you. Society has told me that I am now stuck with you or else. So I might as well get to tolerate you - that's not love. That's called settling with someone.
U are mistaken Laila...I meant to say for an arranged marriage love starts after marriage, well for love marriages....it is love at first sight😉.......true love I mean is when how much husband and wife will trust, support, love each other when their weakness, traumatic past comes out and no one is perfect on earth ...everyone has their weakness .....and how much they support each other during this difficult time is true pure, perfect Love......and it can happen only after the relation starts ie marriage......Well here almost all forum member are in 30+ so we see life in the same wavelength ,bcoz we hav exp life and learnt.....learning ......so I find this show closer to life.
Gaurav is an amazing actor who can emote well.⭐️...when someone is talented it is not wrong to admire their talent..... Well see the show with open mind U will like the show & Gaurav too😉

shobha - that comment really helped me too... i didnt want to sell anyone on watching the show

just wanted to be heard loud and clear that i like the show

and yes i would watch a time card with Gauravs face on it, never thought i would watch ads as many times as i watched his airtel ad but again i m not a 16yr old mooning over a pretty face... i have loved the characters he plays and the person he comes across as in his interviews.. but again i m not selling anyone to be his fan either, he already has loads

when you post something so clearly negative about a show that hasnt even completed its first week, ppl might think thats what others are thinking too and my post on your thread was just to negate that... i am liking the content of the show and do not think its un creative and unreal
