Thanks for sharing.

So, she didn't have any loved one at her side for a long time towards the end!

^^ Do you know the role of Kishore da in Padosan was of S D Burman, he always had a paan in mouth, and he always composed b y the side of pond & lake with a harmonium. He often said studio is not the right place to compose..!

Those days there was trend in the industry to use only one playback singer for one hero in one film, eg
mukesh for Raj Kapoor,
Kishor Kumar for Rajesh Khanna
Mohd.Rafi for Shammi Kapoor and Dilip Kumar.

But SDB often used more than one voice for the same artiste in the same film. eg he chose the playback singer depending on Mood and the situation where his song would be used in the film and not by which voice matched the actor's voice most.
Thus, Kishore Kumar, Mohammed Rafi and Mukesh sung for Amitabh in Abhiman and no one in the audience could noticed the switch while watching the movie.

Mukesh-loote koi man ka nagar
Rafi-Hai hai teri bindiya ri
Kishore- meet na mila

Similarly Rafi, Kishore and Manna Dey offered their voices for Dev Anand in Manzil.

A feature of Sachin Dev Burman's music and singing is his unmatched aesthetic sense. In most of his songs I find places where many other MDs or singers could be tempted to do a little more decoration, but SDB precisely knew where to do what, to maximize the appeal of his songs.

He had the capability to sing pure classical stuff, but in his own singing applied musical ornaments with restraint and finesse. He is the only nasal singer whose singing I've been deeply fond of. His nasality has a unique charm, quite different from others', but takes time to develop a liking for. Thanks to my father, I've heard SDB's singing since the days I was learning to speak -- he's a fan of both SDB's songs and singing.

Yes, I've heard he needed to dance around to rouse the tunes inside him. 😆

I guessed Kishore Kumar impersonated SD Burman in Padosan and later learned I'd guessed it right. 😃
