The hunt for Pallavi Gupta's replacement on Sahara One's Bitto has ended with actress Ritu Dudhani of Chehra fame.

Indya.com had earlier reported about Gupta's decision to quit the show after the channel slashed the budget of the show as a result of which the actress was asked to take a cut in her fees. Gupta refused to slash her fees and informed the production house, Contiloe Films, of her decision to quit the show. The makers have been looking for a replacement ever since and now Ritu has been finalised to play the new Bitto. The actress was also seen in Imagine TV's Bandini.

Confirming the news, Ritu said, ''As of now I have been finalised to play Bitto. I am going to read the script tomorrow and can divulge the details only after that. The show will have a complete new look to it and I will be making an entry with a new family. I will come know of their character sketches only tomorrow. However what would remain constant is the character of Bitto. She will only become a little more confident but would remain uneducated and simple. Moving to the city only means added problems and bigger challenges.''

An emotional Gupta quipped, ''Today is my last day of shoot. The show will always remain close to my heart, I am the only Bitto of the show. I cried during my last day of the shoot at Haveli (previous sets) just when my co-actors were to exit the show. I am alone now from the original lot as new faces have come in. I might end up crying once they announce pack-up. My wishes to Ritu and as they say the show must go on.''
