Akashi needs serious medical help!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stockholm_syndrome

In psychology, Stockholm syndrome is a term used to describe a paradoxical psychological phenomenon wherein hostages express adulation and have positive feelings towards their captors that appear irrational in light of the danger or risk endured by the victims, essentially mistaking a lack of abuse from their captors as an act of kindness.

Love and Stockholm Syndrome: The Mystery of Loving an Abuser (Part 1)

Local law enforcement personnel have long recognized this syndrome with battered women who fail to press charges, bail their battering husband/boyfriend out of jail, and even physically attack police officers when they arrive to rescue them from a violent assault.

Stockholm Syndrome (SS) can also be found in family, romantic, and interpersonal relationships. The abuser may be a husband or wife, boyfriend or girlfriend, father or mother, or any other role in which the abuser is in a position of control or authority.

Those who think Akashi does not need medical help should consult this doctor!

Ok, I definetly understand the point you're trying to make. It's actually cogent research I've looked into at University myself...
But I think certain aspects of Akashi-Shyamad situation don't fit the Stockholm description. Although Shyamad did forcibly marry her, he did not kidnap her for an extended period of time or keep her captive. He let her go right afterwards and she was free to divorce him and start her life over...she was the one who chose to live with him and she did not do this out of affection either. she actually spent a lot of her time getting revenge on Shyamad, and runing his life in various ways (that is definetly NOT a symptom of the Stockholm syndrome)
In fact, she left their house for a second time, and chose to go back. In Stockholm, the realtionship is predicated on being a captor-victim....Shyamad eventually becomes a friend to her, takes an interest in her life, defends her honour, begins treating her with respect, is willing to divorce her just so she can be happy. These actions actually allow love to develop legitimitely. So I don't think Akashi is in love with him because she developed feeligs for an abuser...she actually lhated him during that phase. She only developed feelings for him after he acted like a human being and earned her trust.
Just my two cents 😊
