Kashish,
The one thing that makes this show, Geet different from all the other shows is its realistic strong characters.
I love the character of Geet and Maan. They have so much layers of depth and emotions that represent human nature.
Maan's anger results from his repressed feelings of anger of his past which he tends to vent out at his employees and especially Geet. I think many people do that at times.........its perfectly natural.
The most important thing is unlike other shows the main protagonist in this show is believable. My favorite scene in Geet last week was when after she confesses to him about her pregnancy and he leaves shocked she is left crying all alone in the party hall. At that moment, I loved the way she wiped her tears, gained strength and courage and told herself that, "I will not let Maan go away from my life this easily, I will tell him my whole story."
At that moment, I applauded her!!!! If you were watching another show, the main heroine would be crying bucket of tears in every episode and won't even bother to tell the hero her whole story or the truth thinking that there's no point. And the hero would find out what happened to her after like 50-60 episodes from someone else.
And in many movies and shows I've seen heriones just doing rhona dona and easily letting the guy she loves away from her life and doing possibly nothing about it!!!!
But, this is not the case with Geet. She represent the emotions of a real woman. She loves him truly therefore she herself told him the truth. And when she realized that her hasty pregnancy statement created rift between her and Maan she still kept trying. She didn't want to lose him over some half-truth or misunderstandings so, she perserved to tell him the whole truth and hear her out. When he did, she realized it still didn't change his understanding of the situation so, that's when she decided to leave. Becuz, thats when she realized that even though she told him the whole truth it still bothered him that she's pregnant and thats something she can't do anything about. As she can't change that fact.
I seriously love this show! The character's emotions are just so realistic that I can totally feel their pain and what they are going through! Great post!
