A starry fashion soiree in Delhi
TNN, Sep 17, 2010, 12.00am ISTIt was a heady cocktail of Bollywood, fashion and television glamour in the capital as the Danish fashion company Bestseller launched the three European brands – Vero Moda, ONLY and Jack & Jones – with a fashion show here.
And a celebration it was! While names like Priyanka Chopra, Bipasha Basu, Dia Mirza, Ameesha Patel, Kangna Ranaut and Neha Dhupia took to the ramp, lucky customers, who walked with them for the show, couldn't flaunt wider grins! While Anusha Dhandekar shimmed down the runway donning an ONLY creation, Dia, Neha and Ameesha walked in wearing Vero Moda and ONLY.
BOYS WILL BE BOYS: Yuvraj Singh had everyone howling with his on-stage antics. By the time Manish Malhotra and Kunal Kapoor came on-stage in trendy attires from Jack & Jones, guests had lost count of how many showstoppers had come, besides the television stars. And these were of course followed by their entourage. We were counting the number of people (read bouncers, makeup artistes, secretary, manager, etc) surrounding celebs enter the backstage area. Priyanka – 10, Bipasha – 10, along with friend Rocky S, Ameesha – only a handful of bouncers, Dia and Neha – 6, and Kangna – 5. Guess Kunal (only with manager) and Yuvraj (four bouncers) were those with the
least security.
POWER PACKED: One of the highlights of the show was a performance by parkour artistes from South Africa. The show ended with rapper and hip-hop singer Hard Kaur adding a power punch to the star-studded event.
TWO-GETHER! We spotted Sanjeeda and Aamir Ali not sitting next to each other for the show and Sanjeeda told us why. "When we entered the hall, there was just one seat vacant so Aamir asked me to sit. Later, he too got a seat next to Iqbal Khan. But we were together towards the show's end." Later, when actor Sudhanshu Pandey hugged choreographer Geeta Kapoor when our lensman asked them for a picture, Shilpa Agnihotri suddenly said, "Sudhanshu aise pakadne ko nahin kaha tha!"Also present at the do was Prashant Aggarwal, MD, Bestseller Retail India Pvt Ltd
