Salman Khan is contemplating quitting the micro-blogging site Twitter following the controversy over his comments on the 26/11 terror attack.

"Looks like I might have to get off Twitter. Don't want to but what to do? I think I messed up, so sorry guys, sorry bolne mein koi sharam nahi (there's no shame in saying sorry)," Salman posted on his Twitter page.

The 44-year-old, whose latest film Dabangg has the cash registers ringing, is being criticised for his comments to a Pakistani TV channel that the 26/11 attack attracted "too much hype" as only "elite people were targeted".

But the actor apologised when he realised his comments were being blown out of proportion.

Salman's father, veteran scriptwriter Salim Khan defended his son and said he is not "articulate and political".

That could be one of the reasons why Salman is planning to pull off from Twitter. He had joined the social networking site in April this year.

I swear twitter is gonna suck if he isnt there.. 😭😭😭😭

Stupid media!!

I really liked Salman being on twitter, not a huge fan but his tweets were entertaining. And even if I didn't like him, I would say this is the worst way for someone to be pushed off of being on twitter. I hope Salman stays on twitter and doesnt let the media take away his right to speak his mind as long as he is not hurting anyone else and I don't think what he said was wrong.

I don't care much for twitter, but Sallu's tweets were definately a positive influence among all the negativity online.. and his tweets were so cute and unpretentious.. all the good ones are going first immu then sallu.. Someone stop sallu man.. he can't quit twitter!

the whole interview is on youtube..

i have seen it he does not say anythign against indian goverment

the only thing he said was that we lacked the secuirty it wasnt secure tied enough

I think salman made a great choice. Some people and media were making it seem like it was a crime for what he said. He don't negativity in his life, I'm sure he has stuff to worry about it as it is. He don't need to be judged by he's personal life and opinions.

Although I would love to read a book by salman based on his real life story

Probably a good idea. I wouldn't be surprised if Salman does't want to give another interview in his life (obviously that's not gonna happen). He must be tired of having to watch EVERY single word he says with those hyenas (i.e. the media) just waiting for him to slip.
