Shahid Signs Sajid Nadiadwala's Heer Ranjha

September 9, 2010: Shahid Kapoor has been known to be very committed towards his father Pankaj Kapoor's directorial debut movie 'Mausam'. The actor was not even signing any other movie to concentrate fully on this project.

However, Shahid has made an exception this time by signing renowned producer Sajid Nadiadwala's project titled 'Heer Ranjha'. The movie will be directed by Sabir Khan of 'Kambakth Ishq' fame.

Earlier, Shahid planned not to sign any movie for a year as his father Pankaj Kapoor has put a lot of effort in 'Mausam' and Shahid wanted to give his best in it.

A source was quoted saying that Shahid has been working very passionately for his father's film and that's why he did not sign any other movie while working on 'Mausum'. In fact, he rejected all the films offered to him in recent times but he loved the script offered by Sajid and could not reject it.

However, Sajid has signed all the A-listed actors in his upcoming movies, which includes Salman Khan in 'Kick', Akshay Kumar in 'Housefull' sequel, Hrithik Roshan for Imtiaz Ali's next and Saif Ali Khan for Siddarth Anand's next film. This has probably motivated Shahid to take up Sajid's project to be counted among other top listing heroes.

Sajid Nadiadwala has not signed the female lead opposite Shahid, who will be working with him for the first time. The movie is likely to start shooting from the next February.
