Don't agree with Kajol about Kajo writing strong roles for actresses....usually the feminine characters are depicted in a sexist manner and lacks nuance & depth - they're either hysterical (K3G - Anjali) anrgy/teary (Maya KANK - Kajol in MNIK) over booked working b*tch mom / over oriented career girls ( Rhea KANK - Shreya WAF) - unattractive tomboys (Anjali KKHH) turning into sensual bombshells (Anjali 2 KKHH)
They're rarely subtle or strong characters. I'd rather say --- the interpretation of the Dharma characters demand powerful acting and emotional control to give them the right shades : yeah we call that a performance....? hmmm.
It's always nicer to acknowledge the skills of one's competitor especially when they're so few...let's face it- Bebo & Priyanka are the only hindi actresses who have done some challenging roles these years (Omkara - JWM - Fashion - Kaminey - coming up roles 7 husbands - Ra one - Agent Vinod - Hindi "Marilyn Monroe")....
Deepika - Sonam are clearly out of the race and def NOT in the same league at all..........
Konkona - Tabu are great actresses but not as mainstream & popular than Priyanka & bebo)
And the "veteran" actresses (Kajol Preity Rani Madhuri Juhi ) are less in the limelight than Bebo & Priyanka (who's btw all over the network)
As for Bebo's involvement in promoting movies - I saw her promoting 3 Idiots when Aamir was busy hiding hilmself everywhere in India - I saw her being interviewed with Arjun Rampal - Kajol wasn't there - and the date with Kjo & Kajol....so putting her heart into work...she gives time and presence on some shows (was it indian idol or sth else she =went with A Rampal)...So I don't see what you're talking about.....
Bebo has endorsements and launches and several photoshoots also....she (her staff) has to organize her timeline very precautiously.
I guess her fans want to see more of her but she can't be on screen everyday if she wants her work to be done properly.
Only SRK manages to cultivate the gift of ubiquity.
