Since the track is going to get serious what with Dev coming back into Geet's life. I thought I'd take a shot at writing something serious as well....well sort of I think??😕 It's something that's been on my mind for quite a while, about what happens after the truth has been told... 😳
I'm Here, Here, Here...
Geet stared out of the window, back in her room in Uncleji's house , thinking about Maan. Tears silently fell as she remembered what happened with Dev and Maan and banged her head a few times against the window pane she was leaning against, sad, angry and mostly frustrated at the situation she was in. She should have told Maan about what his brother had done to her, despite having many chances telling him and yet she couldn't. They were getting along great, after the night at the Durgah, knowing he had feelings for her and she had feelings for him but they didn't want to be the first to admit in being in love with the other. Why should she have spoiled such a good and prospective relationship with her past involving Dev???
She put her hand on her small bump and whispered quite painfully, "We'll be alright little one, we don't need Maa-" and cut herself off with a small sob, which grew in intensity until she felt arms going around her and hugging her. She glanced up through her tears and seeing Pinky there, she cried even harder, saying "I'm sorry," over and over again. People had been talking when she came back here and it had ruin Uncleji's and Pinky's reputation, even when they told her they didn't care about what others say, Geet still felt guilty about moving back here. She had even suggested that she'd live on her own, but they wouldn't hear of it.
Geet moved away slowly, and wiping her tears away she looked back out of the window, "I should have told Maan, the first chance I had about what his brother and sister had done to me! Why didn't I, Pinky? Why couldn't I open my mouth and just say it?" Pinky struggled to find the words to soothe Geet, but all she could do was sigh helplessly and hopefully said "I don't know Geet. I think...maybe you were scared of his reaction, deep down?" Geet looked away from the twinkling stars in the dark night and looked over her shoulder, "You're right Pinky. I was! I just didn't want to ruin what we had! I couldn't...oh Babaji!" she cried out in frustration before walking over slowly to her bed and sitting down, sighing heavily she said quietly, "Could you leave me for a while please?"
Pinky looked at Geet sadly, before moving nearer and raising her hand to rest on Geet's shoulder, "You know you have me and my dad, okay? Don't shut us out," before bending down and giving a sisterly kiss on Geet's forehead for comfort, before walking to the door, "Shall I put the radio on for you?" Geet looked up at Pinky and smiled slightly, "Please, will you? Thanks." Pinky smiled at her, before putting on the radio and walked out, listening to the DJ's words, "....and if you just tuned in we have a request from one of our listeners about a song she'd like...."
Geet closed her eyes and thought about the last time she saw Maan which was roughly a two weeks ago, yet it seemed longer "You really are what I thought about you the first time I met you! Some greedy money grabbing girl hoping to strike it rich by playing the poor, helpless victim and getting money out of it! Isn't that true?" Geet shook her head, trying to get rid of those last words that Maan said and knowing he regretted it after saying it. His face had said it all. Well she did have his Dadimaa on her side, "It was not her fault Maan! Dev and Naintara shouldn't have lied to her about the rishta! They stole her money and ran to Canada!"
Before she could defend herself Dadimaa had interfered and Maan had looked shocked. She smiled sadly, "Thank you Dadimaa for believing in me!" before sniffing slightly and getting up to shut the window. She stopped as she felt the wind on her face, and hugged herself against the cold, smiling at the twinkling stars in the sky...
"Jaanam dekh lo, mit gayi dooriyan
Main yahaan hoon, yahaan hoon, yahaan hoon, yahaan..."
She froze as she felt his arms going around her waist and holding her tight against his chest, his mouth so near to her ear, singing along to the song on the radio, and swaying her gently, while she laid her head back on his shoulder, closing her eyes and smiling, listening to him sing...
"Janam, dekh lo, mit gayi dorriyan
Main yahaan hoon, yahaan hoon, yahaan hoon, yahaan (2)
Kaisi Sarhadein, kaisi majbooriyan
Main yahaan hoon, yahaan hoon, yahaan hoon, yahaan"
She turned around and opening her eyes slowly, looked up into his, which were shining brightly with happiness. She then moved back, hand going to her mouth, knowing she was dreaming about Maan, before rushing past him to go to her bed.
"Tum chhupa na sakogi main woh raaz hoon
Tum bhoola na sakogi woh andaaz hoon
Goonjta hoon jo dil mein to hairaan ho kyun
Main tum hare hi dil ki to awaaz hoon
Sun sako, to suno, dhadkanon ki zabaan
Main yahoon hoon, yahoon hoon, yahaan hoon, yahaan
Kaisi Sarhadein, kaisi majbooriyaan
Main yahaan hoon, yahaan hoon, yahaan hoon, yahaan..."
But as she passed Maan, he grabbed her arm and pulled her close, moving down to kiss her neck and stroke her naked back at the top, where her kameez was open. He moved his kisses to her shoulder to her back, before picking her up and moving towards the bed and laid her gently on it, before climbing on top and gave small little kisses across her face...
Her eyes opened as she felt a cool breeze across her face and sat up, looking for Maan but not seeing him. She looked on her other side seeing no imprint on the duvet covers, yet she was sure Maan was there last night. The radio was still on, playing a different song. She got up to go the bathroom, and felt a hand stopping her, she slowly turned back and saw Maan there, lying on the bed his left hand holding her right hand, and was looking at her, smiling.... a knock was heard on the door and she jumped, looking towards the door, she panicked slightly and looked back at Maan to tell him to hide but he wasn't there. She closed her eyes tightly before moving towards the bathroom to start her day.
She was in the kitchen later that day, making lunch for herself and uncleji, and as she was cutting the cucumber her mind went towards Maan, wondering what he was doing, was he eating his lunch like he should do? She was about to put the knife down to make a phone call to him, but instead shook her head and continued slicing the salad. She cut herself, and she winced but before she could clean it out, Maan was there, grabbing her hand and gently took it underneath the tap and cleaning the wound, shaking his head at her and smiling, before grabbing a slice of cucumber and taking a bite out of it.... "Geet puttar?" she jumped slightly and saw Uncleji standing there, worried before looking at her finger, which was bleeding quite a lot and rushed to clean it. She turned her head away, wiping her tears away, while Uncle got a plaster to put on her finger.
Geet was in the backyard, digging to get the weeds out and she was sweating profusely, slightly cursing Uncleji for sending her out here, yet it helped to take her mind off Maan. Her dupatta fell off from her left shoulder, and she sighed heavily, wondering if this was just going to be one bad day for her. She took her glove off and was just about to pick it to put it back up on her shoulder, when she saw a hand, and followed along to the face, staring at Maan as he picked up the end of the dupatta and instead of putting it on her shoulder, he put it on her head like a bride, smiling he leaned forward and kissed her on the cheek....The sound of the door banging shut loudly from next door, made her fall over and she looked around, desperately seeing if Maan was there, and not seeing him she just cried in the sun, hands going to her dupatta and twisting it in her hands.
That night she was in her bedroom, curled up on her bed with her chin on her knees and staring at the picture she managed to get from the outhouse. Maan in a white shirt, smiling at someone behind the camera, "Must have been someone he really loved," she whispered to herself, before putting it down and sighing. The radio was one, and she froze as the last lyrics of the song she heard last night came on...
"Main hi main ab tumaare khayaalon mein hoon
Main jawaabon mein hoon, main sawaalon mein hoon
Main tumhaare hare khwaab mein hoon basa
Main tumhaari nazar ke ujaalon mein hoon
Dekhti, ho mujhe, dekhti ho jahaan,
Main Yahaan hoon, yahaan hoon, yahaan hoon, yahaan..."
She looked up as the bed dipped, and she stared at Maan, who was sitting there, smiling at her. She couldn't help herself; she jumped on Maan and hugged him hard. She realised what she was doing and moved back shyly, and he laughed slightly, before moving foward and flicking her nose gently. She slowly got up and and went towards the window, looking behind her, only to start panicking. Maan wasn't on the bed, sitting and smiling before she had got up, "Maan? Where are you?" she jumped as she felt his arm go across her growing belly, hugging her sideways into his body, while Maan gently blew into her ear before kissing beneath it, and continuing down her neck, humming along with the song...
"Jaanam, dekh lo, mit gai dooriyan
Main yahaan hoon, yahaan hoon, yahaan hoon, yahaan
Kaisi sardadein, kaisi majbooriyan
Main yahaan hoon, yahaan hoon, yahaan hoon, yahaan..."
She was in the bathroom washing her face, and Maan came up behind her, and splashed more water in her face, before bending down and kissing the water off her cheek, following the trail towards her chest... Geet closed her eyes, holding Maan's hand tightly and then she opened them suddenly, twirled around in his arms, seeing him smiling at her and ran from the bathroom, a hand going to her mouth trying to hide the sobs. She ran all the way outside into the garden, towards the swinging chair Uncleji had and sat there, crying as the rain started to fall on her...
" Main yahaan hoon, yahaan hoon, yahaan hoon, yahaan..."
She swirled about hearing his voice echoing the last line of the song, and sobbed harder not caring who heard her. She jumped when she felt a hand on her shoulder and swirled in her seat to see Pinky, holding an umbrella and looking at her worriedly, "Pinky, he's here! Maan's here! I know he is!", frantically grabbing Pinky's hand on her shoulder and standing up, shaking her slightly, while looking around for Maan. Pinky managed to let go of her hand and let go of the umbrella, uncaring she was getting wet and grabbed Geet by her shoulders and said in a firm voice, "Geet, Maan isn't here! You're thinking about him! He's been on your mind since two weeks ago, when you last saw him. He hasn't been in the office either and from what I know, he's gone somewhere camping for a while," looking straight into Geet's eyes, seeing the panic slowly disappear and sadness taking over its' place.
Pinky moved her arm to wrap around Geet, bent down quickly to grab the umbrella and walked with Geet slowly, towards the house. They met with Pinky's dad on the patio, who went on the other side of Geet and helped her inside, with the rain still falling, more heavily...
