'Don’t hurt yourself too much…’: Prajakta Shukre recalls Abhijeet Sawant's advice ahead of Bigg Boss Marathi 6

Indian Idol Season 1 fame Prajakta Shukre has stepped into the spotlight once again as one of the contestants on Bigg Boss Marathi Season 6, which has recently begun airing. Known for her soulful voice and grounded personality, Prajakta's entry into the reality show has sparked curiosity among viewers eager to see a different side of the singer.

Abhijeet Sawant, who emerged as the winner of Indian Idol Season 1 and later went on to become the first runner-up of Bigg Boss Marathi 5, shares a long-standing connection with Prajakta, as both were part of the same season of Indian Idol. Given Abhijeet's recent journey on Bigg Boss Marathi, we asked Prajakta whether she shared the news of her participation with him and if he offered her any advice before she entered the house.

The advice that he gave was the same: that you be what you are. And don’t hurt yourself too much in the task, because he did. So he said that to me.

And both of them—I spoke to Shilpa Veni and him, both. And they were very clear that you are a likeable personality. Don’t try to change anything about that.

Definitely speak a lot, because you don’t speak too much—that was their advice. They know that I don’t talk a lot. So speak and put your opinions out, because people are going to watch Bigg Boss for one hour, and if you want to be shown to those people, if they want to know what you think, you need to speak it out. So that’s something they told me, and I’m going to do that for sure."

In the same candid conversation, the singer also opened up about what convinced her to take up a reality show like Bigg Boss. She said, "Actually no particular reason. It was just instinctively I said ki chalo karte hain. Because like I told, I never thought I will participate in Bigg Boss. And this time also, when I got the first call, I laughed it out ki arre yaar mujhse nahi hoga. You know, I never thought how much ever money I get, I can’t do it and all that.

And then the team was like, “Hey, just have one meeting na, see how you feel.” And in the first meeting, when we had a conversation, when I had my queries and they told me this and that, that gave me comfort that I don’t need to be something else.

Like I told them that if you are looking for a personality who is very loud aur can shout and all, I am no drama person. I don’t like too much drama and all that. So then put me out. But if you are looking for somebody who is dignified, who is a no-nonsense person, definitely it does not mean that I am going to take shit off people.

If you are looking for something simple and relatable, I am game. And they were like, yes, that is what we are also trying to showcase — that Bigg Boss is not about drama always aur shouts always, it’s about human emotions. And how you feel, you need to express that.

So especially Marathi, we focus a lot on emotions and the 'Manuski' we say in Marathi. So if that is something you are looking forward to, then I am game. And so I got comfortable to get into this show."
