'Ola, everyone! 🤗 (Arrey, koi ek din mein kitni baar 'hello' bolega? 😕)

Actually, I've a lot to say about this week's happenings, hence the second topic in a timespan of a few minutes. 😉

Don't worry, I won't eat up your heads for long...this week's posts happen to be quite short 😆

Anyway, so last week, I had talked about the subtle, yet noticeable change in Maan...I even mentioned it in my other post today.

But, this one is different. Here, I talk about the lift scene in today's episode. I talk about the person hidden beneath him, not the change in him.

To be very mild, the first impression of Maan was that of an arrogant, stubborn, insensitive, unreasonable and heartless man. Perhaps, not even a person...he was cold stone. Harsh, relentless, rude and angry, he came across as someone without compassion for anyone else in the world. Unimpressive, to say the least.

But today, in the lift, as he backed Geet into the wall and tried to stare her down, his intentions backfired. What we saw was a striking contrast to his image - a man who was hurt, broken, and vulnerable.

For one fleeting moment, he dropped his defence. We saw through the hard stone walls and found a man who was nursing a broken heart. The apparent nerves of steel, the shuttered expressions, the iron gates guarding his heart all broke down to reveal a human...someone he had been hiding carefully beneath his outer shell.

"Stop it", he whispered in agony. "Stop your onslaught of emotions on me. Stop questioning me with your eyes."

She had involuntarily, unintentionally, broken through his carefully constructed defence. His eyes betrayed his inner turmoil, his innate fear of perhaps a repeat of a past incident that left a mark on him. They betrayed his vulnerability.

For once, for the first time, his eyes spoke exactly what was going through his mind and heart, unguarded and unchecked.

"I hate emotions", he said. 😲

I may be reading too much into this 😳 😆, but I felt he was hiding something else in those words. Carefully concealed, perhaps, but for me it meant so much more. It spoke of his lack of strength to face the emotions warring inside him, of his fear of the effect these emotions have on him.

His hurt overwhelmed me. The naked display of emotions in his eyes, the way he so sharply looked at her, it all spoke volumes about the man he truly is. I saw the depth of the pain in his eyes as he uttered the words.

It was so spontaneous, he recovered almost immediately, pulling on the mask of defiance all over again. There was nothing but hardness in those striking eyes.

The pain, the agony, the vulnerability, and the overwhelming will to run away from it all was wiped from his face in an instant.

He may act tough, but after today, Geet (and us as well 😉) will know what lies hidden inside. Hidden so deep, that maybe somewhere has lost himself to his false identity, willing the mask to overshadow his true face.

And perhaps there's even more to him than met the eye today...the real, original Maan he tries so hard to conceal. Who knows? Only time will tell... Embarrassed

Did any of you read what I did in his eyes today? Please do share your thoughts. Would love to know exactly how much I read between the lines. 😉

Yep we are seeing a man who is broken, vulnerable and trying to withstand on that last leg of determination.

imagine...when we are faced with a weakness how we try to overcome it, that is what Geet is to him now, she is a weakness

i was actually really mad at him at start of the epi......but after the lift scene......everything changed...........why does he do that .......get us all mad at him for being a rude ,insensitive jerk......and next instant he gives us a glimpse of all the pain hes kept buried deep within himself........melting us all.....making us want to hug him to death.......🤗.
As its been discussed all of Maans actions are linked to his past..... we don't know what he went through to turn him into this man.....but we can be sure hes actually a broken man emotionally, his tough exterior is just a facade to keep people at bay, so he won't get attached to anyone again.....even his interactions with Dadi are not like usual Dadi-pota inter. dadi shows her love for him though in a somewhat reserved manner but Maan hasn't yet in any way.......
hopefully Geet ne thoda sa toh maan ke emotional balance ko hila diya hai👍🏼

I did come across your previous post..But i coudn't reply back to it.

If i recall correctly you were saying how you prefered the newly changed Maan...than the other arrogant, cold, woman hater.. Maan back at Horshaipur..Honestly for me, i've always loved that older Maan..I mean of course this new and improved Maan in the office track is nice becoz we get to see the emotional side to him which is nice for a change....But i don't know..I also like the older one as well..The horshaipur Maan had alot of mystery to him..One could never really figure out who he was or what he wanted..and i liked that mysterious air that surrounded him..I guess i always loved that attitude and arrogance that runs in this guy's blood...so i was okay with both..the other Maan..and the changed one..as stated in your post..😛.....

The thing for me is that..i don't mind if he softens up all in front of Geet..but becoz this character of Maan is such a strong character and one that is of a kind..i really hope the CVs don't change him totally..I still want them to keep his atittude inside...but maybe they could tone it down abit..which will only happen with Geet's influences...😆......I just don't want to see Maan turning into a typical lover boy, what we get off in all the the other kekta soaps... 😆..

I love the change in him..BUT i don't want it to be a drastic change..

Yeap i did see a man who was vulnerable in yst's episode..Though i gotta say, I didn't see that line coming at all..the way he said "I hate emotions"..

That's pretty strong....And it left me wondering why he said that..

@Bold : Hmm i also thought the same once..that maybe Maan must have gone through a bad relationship..and hence that is why he stays away from all this love related stuff..and just occupies himself with his work..BUT then i was thinking...Whenever Maan has an intimate moment with Geet, like the rain scene, he starts to question himself..saying things like "i'm going crazy..why is going on..".blah blah blah...😆...so he is clearly unaware about how it feels like to have strong feelings or be in love...Hence i came to a conclusion that Maan might never have been in love before.....his past could be something else..some other kinda of relationship maybe..? but not love related..then again..i could be wrong here..😆

Those eyes of his yesterday said so much..It was such an intense moment...and it did show, like what you said, he was afraid of history repeating itself all over again...as in his past coming back to haunt him...

Oh you're nt reading too much into it..coz girl even i felt that he was hiding something when he finally opened his mouth to speak to Geet abt the emotions bit...There was definitely more to it...like a double meaning or more like a hidden meaning actually....He looked very much hurt at that moment..and when the lift came to a halt again..he burst out of his thoughts...and like what you said, he hid back whatever he was feeling..and put on that mask once again..... It's really tough to open up this guy..and i feel only in moments when he's with Geet, we are slowly able to see the real Maan behind this harsh/cold exterior. SO hoping for more of such interactions with Geet...esp such hot lifts scenes...☺️

LOL but honestly more than those hot scenes, i'm excited to see how they unfold this character..there is definitely more to this guy, what is it that he is hiding..hmm...

Would really love to know what's his past about..

i highlighted this line of urs because it is so true in every way.....firstly, till date maan had the capability to camouflage his pain behind a cold mask....but now his agony was way too much for him to hide it from geet's eyes....secondly after all its gurmeet who is doing the actual job and he has been AWESOME....

as for my views....even i believe maan is hiding a lot of things....to bear the pain for not being able to let himself confess his feeling for geet is becoming a herculean task for him.....but yet he is letting himself going thru the pain....i dunno but maan is the same person who tells geet not to look back in life....to forget the past.....but he himself is yet to follow his own rules....poor maan 😭 he knows what is the right thing to do but is unable to do so....i guess it is very easy for maan to tell geet to forgive and forget her past but he fails to implement it in his own life.

You could see the hurt, the fear in them. When I say fear, I mean his fear of emotions and love. When he said "I hate emotions" to me, that was not what he meant. I think he's scared of them. I agree with Blueberry_07 in that he hasn't been in love before. Something has happened previously to cause him to say such strong words, but I don't think it's love related. But whatever it is, it has built that stone wall around him, and built it so strong, that it has BECOME him, and he doesn't want to let it go. 🥺 He doesn't WANT to succumb to his feelings. He deosn't want change.

But of course. Geet will change that. 😛😉 LOL.

And perhaps there's even more to him than met the eye today...the real, original Maan he tries so hard to conceal. Totally agree. And I just had a thought. Maybe it's something to do with Vicky? Maybe there was a reason why he was camping, drinking so many cans of beer, and looking for Vicky, away from the luxuries he has. Of course, I may be wrong, seeing as that thought came to me so suddenly, but it's always a possibility. These CVs are dangerous. 😆

when he said emotion dialogue i felt like😭 what kind of problem he might have gone thorough as he is afraid/hating of emotions

to be frank for the 1 time i am scared of maans past as he is not interested in emotions, not loving flowers, not liking rain, not willing to smile, not interested in happiness i am really worried for maan😒

but one thing for sure geet is making him to act normal which he is not liking and not willing to do😔

@bDgT...thanks for replying. You're right, she's a weakness he's trying to fight off...

@dee30...I was really hoping for a sensuous scene. But I must say, this one was far better 😉 He doesn't have emotional balance...if he did, he wouldn't have behaved in such a way.

@Vini...thanks! 😳 Well, everyone has different choices, and you like the old Maan whereas I like the new one. 😉 I don't fear for a drastic change in Maan unless the writer's dimaag goes truly haywire, which I'm fairly confident won't happen. 😆 Yup, lift scenes ki jai ho! 😆 😆 😆 I'm def looking forward to more insights into Maan's mind.

@aditi123_78...yes, Gurmeet is doing a good job! I'm glad you agree!
