Nothing Can Keep Us ApartPart 15 - Two headed baby.
Geet stopped drying her hair and looked at Maan with a mutinous expression on her face. From the phone Maan could hear Sasha calling, "MK, MK!" loudly. Putting the phone back to his ear he said to her, "You know what to do. I'll see you tomorrow," and cut the call. Looking at Geet, he wondered why she was making faces and asked her the same. Her answer surprised him.
"Why do I have to go to the doctor? I feel fine and I don't like doctors." When Maan asked the reason, Geet replied, "I just don't like them. I'm not going." He then thought that she was afraid and assured her that he would be going with her. Folding her arms across her chest, her response was, "If you want to go to the doctor, then go, but I'm not going!"
Maan continued trying to persuade Geet, while Geet continued to state that she wasn't going. They spent a few minutes arguing before Maan decided to try a different tactic.
"Theek hai! If you don't mind if our baby ends up with two heads, that's fine. We won't go then."
Geet's mouth opened in anger as she exclaimed, "My baby does not have two heads. Don't you say such a bad thing about mera bachcha!"
Maan cocked his head and started waling slowly towards Geet, who reflexively walked back. As he continued to advance toward her, he asked, "Tumhara bachcha? Tumhara bachcha nahi hai. Humara bachcha hai! You are my wife. That means that this baby is not your baby, but our baby."
At this point Maan had backed Geet up against the wall and place each of his hands either side of her on the wall. Leaning in closer he asked, "Whose baby is it?"
Geet swallowed nervously as she looked into Maan's eyes. When Maan repeated the question more forcefully, Geet said in a small voice, "Humara bachcha." Though Geet had answered his question, he didn't stop starring at her or move away. In fact, his gaze intensified and he moved in even closer.
Without looking away, Maan said, "That's right and we are going to the doctor for our baby. To make sure it doesn't have two heads or anything like that, but is perfect and healthy, samjhi?"
Geet found it impossible to speak when Maan was so near, but she nodded her head affirmatively. She didn't know why his nearness affected her this way, but it had since the first time they met. Satisfied with her answer, Maan told her to finish getting ready and meet him downstairs.

(Meanwhile, back at the office....)
Sasha could not believe what she had just heard during her conversation with MK. Geet, marriage, baby? That was impossible. Geet was gone. She had created a big scene with MK's brother and not been back since. Now she and MK were married? Geet is pregnant? Nahin!
****************
The registration of their marriage went fairly quickly, due in large part to the efforts of Maan and his lawyer the previous night. Geet teased Maan a bit about this being the important work he had last night, that took so long she fell asleep waiting for him. Maan told her that it wasn't the only thing, and that he really had been very busy. Geet wanted to know what else he had been doing. She found that out when they next went to the lawyer's office.
Maan and his lawyer had been busy revising his will as well as drawing up papers to make Geet a part owner of Khurana Constructions. The fact that Maan had a will bothered Geet a lot, because wills were only used when people died. Maan reassured her that nothing would happen to him, but that it was wise to be prepared. He also told her that it wasn't just for her, but also for the baby, and that she needed to be realistic.
The lawyer spent a great deal of time explaining before they were allowed to sign the papers. It took so much time that when they were finished, there was only an hour left until Geet's appointment. Maan decided to take Geet to a restaurant for lunch instead of going home. While they were driving they passed buy a food vendor selling the usual street food offerings. Geet suddenly requested that they stop. When Maan asked why, she told him that she wanted gol gappe.
"Geet, if you'll just wait a few minutes, we'll be at the restaurant. You can order them there if you want."
Geet's face became upset and she slowly started rubbing her stomach as she said, "No, I want them right now. I really want some gol gappe right this moment. Please, please, please, please, please!" Maan gave in to Geet's pleadings, and they both got out of the car and walked over to the food stand.
Maan couldn't believe how many gol gappe Geet. She just kept popping them into her mouth one after another. When it was time that they leave, or be late, Maan was only able to coax Geet into leaving by promising that they would take a plate with them in the car. Geet continued eating until she was down to the last gol gappa. Eyeing it, she suddenly got a very mischievous look on her face. Picking it up, Geet slid over next to Maan and held it up in front of his mouth. Maan just looked at her with a question in his eyes. Geet just smiled at him and raised her eyebrows, continuing to hold the gol gappa in front of his mouth. Maan finally opened his mouth, and before he new it, Geet had put the gol gappa in his mouth and moved back to her side of the car. It was so fast that Maan almost didn't feel the slight brush of her fingers against his lips, almost! As Maan chewed, he stared at Geet with confusion, while Geet just looked ahead, a small smile still adorning her face.
At the doctor's office, Maan waited restlessly while Geet was examined, but eventually the doctor called him to her office to discuss the results along with Geet.
"Overall, the pregnancy seems to be progressing well. The baby's heartbeat is nice and strong. We have some pictures from the ultrasound that you can take home. Everything looked good on the ultrasound too, no problems, although we weren't able to determine the baby's gender due to the position the baby is in at the moment. We might be able to in the future." Maan and Geet looked at each other and smiled with relief. However the doctor's next words had them worried. "My one concern at the moment is that Geet's weight gain is not as high as it should be at this stage in the pregnancy."
"What does that mean? Is there some problem?" questioned Maan immediately.
"In all likelihood, it just means that she needs to eat more. Normally we would schedule your next visit for a month, but I want you to come back in two weeks. If Geet's weight gain improves, then I don't think we'll have anything to worry about. Mr. Khurana, it will be your responsibility to see that your wife eats properly. No skipping meals, and it would probably be best if she also ate a small snack between meals. There is a very good reason that they say mothers are eating for two, because it's true. Don't be overly concerned about food cravings. They aren't an indication of anything going wrong." After making another appointment to come back in two weeks, Mr. and Mrs. Maan Singh Khurana left to go home.Precap:

besharam! Don't you know Maan is a perfect gentleman, and would never do such a thing, unless maybe Geet requested☺️
Everyone pay attention. You are spoiled, 😲spoiled I tell you, from Maha episodes. I do have a life you know! (Well, do I? Watch Geet, watch Laagi Tujhse Lagan, go to work, sleep, is this a life?) Anyway, unless you want to wait 4 or 5 days just to get a long update, you'll have to take them as I can write them. Sometimes they'll be short, sometimes longer.
couldn't be bothered to make a separate post so...
