Celeb couples will go through trial-by-fire in the rounds of Jodee Kamaal Ki. A sneak preview

Sapana Patil

A still from Jodi Kamaal ki

He made celebrity couples dance their way to fame in Nach Baliye. Now he's going to check out their compatibility quotient on screen. Director Deepak Ghatani is all set to launch Jodee Kamaal Ki this Saturday on Star Plus. The first episode will be a Cricketer's special, with former players K Srikanth, Syed Kirmani and Mohinder Amarnath, and of course, their wives, as participants.

Couple capers
The contest will have several rounds. There's Pyaar Ka Imtihaan, where couples are asked questions on each other. So, Srikanth is asked to name his wife's favourite TV serial and he (rightly) answers Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, even singing the title popular track of the serial. In another round called, Bolo To Jaane, which is much like the good old dumb charades, the couples have to guess the names of the song their partners are trying to convey to them with the help of props provided to them. Then, they have to sing the said song together. Mohinder Amarnath and his wife have apparently excelled in this round.

Bouncers ahead
Host Rakshanda Khan will also ask the cricketers questions about their spouses. For instance, she asks the cricketers about the bouncers that their wives bowl at them. Srikanth replies that when his wife yells at him he thinks of the 'Dishum Dishum' advertisement. Syed Kirmani says that being a wicket-keeper, all he can do is hold the bouncer in his hand, while Mohinder Amarnath's wife says that the pace at which her husband throws bouncers at her has changed with age over the years.

Thanks for sharing... I quite look forward to hearing the kyunki title track in Shrikants Southie accent. Its going to be fun.

I have heard that Mohinder Amarnath was apparently one of th ebetter singers in the team. Should be interesting to see them off the field in the show
