I personally dont have any problem with MID. If site Admins see a reason to discourage it, they should discourage it, but may be without taking very strict action unless they see nasty behaviour.
However, if they have strong evidence of nasty behaviour then please go ahead because then the problems are many:
I saw some girls saying that they were being harassed by MIDs sending them loathsome PMs. I saw some MIDs or IDs throw never ending trash (we all do it, but for eternity?) that disrupts the fabric of DM. What should have been an environment for discussion and sometimes for fun and jokes turns into an unhealthy foul smelling trash bin that spreads.
Some trash cannot be recycled even after multiple cycles. Would you believe? Some months back a poster threw dig at me just because I hit like on their posts to appreciate their good posts! In real life, we all sincerely try to help people come out of depression/pessimism, but then we feel tired sometimes.
In long term, the fallout of such trash is that all the posters start to leave :( I like almost all the posters here who come to share their jokes and ideas. I will always pick those posters any day over the occassional trash. That way site Admins should be strict to throw out the unrecyclable trash, but should also allow occasional fun and jokes, with some leniency and balance -- do anything that can keep the posters, that we love, in DM.
At the same time trashes can try to recycle to ( I am trying myself too :P), we will always love them back if they are sincere.
