P1nk how is life ? kya chal raha hai ?
I must say that I am quite shocked at members openly supporting the process of creating MID(s). I assumed everyone must be against it, so I didn't even bother checking this thread. Opeing it and reading through the pages has been quite an experience for me. From what I know, IF does not permit the creation of MID(s) and it's pretty easy to see why. The whole forum gets disrupted by "Newbies" and active members are left at a loss to figure each of these MID(s) out. Also, IF or any forum has limited database space; what gets used by these "Newbies" could have very well been used by real new members here.
I just don't get it why people may feel the need to create another (or more) ID(s). Can those [of] who support it speak up in favor of this practice? I don't want to mean this in a nasty way, but why would one actually want to make another ID and not let others know about the history behind it? There must be some reasons; people don't take such a big step out of blues. Is it simply for fun? Is it a fear of the past? Or are there any psychological reasons behind it?
In the real life, can you picture yourself sitting amidst your friends with a new face, a new name, a totally new identity, and as such no gets to recognize you? If the sole intention is 'hiding behind a mask' (for whatever reason) - then isn't that ultimately cheating yourself?
I don't see much difference between the virtual life and the real one. I am what I am - whether I am writing in the net, or giving a speech in my school, or watching FIFA with my family. I am sure many of us feel that way as well, or else we wouldn't have members (including me) spending over half of their day chatting and spamming in this forum. I've come across members calling IF their second home, so that goes on to prove that many indeed consider the virtual life as real and relevant as their actual one. If abusing ones own identity and hiding behind a false one is not tolerated in the real life, why should it be considered okay and accepted as normal in the virtual world? Do we tolerate such people in real life? Like how would you feel about a friend who lies to you about his name, age, and overall identity - for instance, calling himself a respectable police officer when, in reality, he is actually a thief? Personally, I'd loose all my respect for such a person, and it's not because of who he actually is; it's more and mostly because of him being dishonest about his identity.
I am sure many of us has come across such dishonest people in real life, and when their true identity come out - especially if they happen to be a friend, fiance, or someone we genuinely care about - we tend to get hurt, even emotionally wounded, even if the true, revealed identity is not a bad one. So it makes sense why most of us would not like someone sitting amidst of us with a mask covering his face.
Also, in real life, most people who hide behind masks happen to be criminals or people with severe psychological disorders (like MPD), so that explains the taboo behind this practice and why people are against it. I know a small minority does it for 'fun', but when people do it for fun, they do it for a limited amount of time, and let others know about what they have done. In the virtual life then, such MIDs shouldn't have more than a couple of posts, and they shouldn't be used as actual IDs.
If one is making MID(s) and not letting others know about his/her actual identity - then the person is deceiving and misleading others. If one is making others believe him is a "Newbie" - then the person is lying. Lying, deceiving, misleading and confusing others are all considered 'wrong' (excluding exceptional circumstance) in both real and virtual life.
Another thing is it's not just creating more than one ID(s) that irk people. It's deceiving and misleading people into believing that you are a completely new person, with a completely new personality, that does. It's the dishonestly that bothers people, not simply the act.
If, however, one is making multiple IDs for fun and stuffs and letting others know about that - then that's fine, I guess. At least one is being honest.
As far as accusations are concerned - I disagree with those who said that one can publicly accuse others for being the MID of someone else, so long that one finds their posts similar in nature. I don't think that this is a fair deal. Accusations hurt a lot, and people who have been accused of hideous deeds in their life will know what I am talking about. It may be a virtual world, but I don't think it is fair to accuse anyone of anything without sufficient evidences. I myself am guilty of this practice (accusing others of being the MID of someone else, not creating MID(s)), but that doesn't make me or my action right. If we suspect an account of being the MID of someone else - we should notify that to the moderators immediately, and see if the problem is fixed. I agree with Souro here.
Speaking of Gulshan Gobar, I can't, for the life of me, figure out who the heck in DM (if that is the case) might make such an ID! 😆 I mean it's the Debate Mansion, not some reality show forum or the Dil Mil Gaye one. Most members here are pretty mature and even their MID's posts reflects that. With Gulshan Gobar - he can only be the extension of Bored Girl. 😆 But Bored Girl too was a MID, right?

MID means Multiple ID. Therefore, creating another ID after you have been banned is not considered making or having 'M'IDs.
