Dark Horse of II5: Rakesh ?? - Page 4

I still have doubts if Rakesh has the firepower to carry on the race far enough to be a dark horse. At least from my perspective he has not made any impact for me. He is one of those really good singers, who does not have a stand aside quality that makes him memorable or create a long lasting impact.

Tia has the softness in her voice
Shivam has an impish personality
Bhoomi exudes confidence
Sreeram sings with serenity and ease
Swaroop has a very earthy tonal quality
Shashi has a soothing voice and style
Even Naushad's lisp and pronunciation makes him stick out

Not denying that Rakesh is good, or that others can find stand out qualities in him. To me he just has not stuck out.

Sorry but I tend to disagree. Any die-hard Rafi saab fan will remember his last Gala performance for a long time. His Chappa Chappa is still fresh in my mind. Rakesh has a very good ability to express the song with right feel and emotions.
Only one thing that is going against him is perhaps the type of songs he is singing. The songs are becoming a bit monotonous.
