Just to start of i'm not trying to spark any HINDI VS TAMIL pride battle on here, i'd just like to know based on the cast of each film and songs and mani ratnam's past projects which version of the story he wrote will come out better. Mani Ratnam has proved to make spectacular movies in both hindi and tamil, so what's everybodys thoughts on the new one? Neither of the movies are being RE-MADE from the other but instead made at the same time.

When Yuva and Ayutha Ezhuthu came out i personally thought Ayutha was better. It had a really good tone and the songs and cast i felt were a tad bit stronger than Yuva. I've been listening to both the soundtracks for Raavan and Raavanan, and i cant seem to make up my mind. So far i think Khile Re is better than its tamil counterpart, but at the same time i thought Usurey Poguthey sounded better than 'Behene De'.

Anyway, what does everybody else think?

I've never seen a Tamil film nor do I understand the language, but after you opened this thread I heard the tamil versions of Bhene de and Ranjha Ranjha on Youtube, and I love them!! I don't know if better or not but they are beautiful. I like the softer female voice of the Tamil version of Ranjha Ranjha.

I've never seen a Tamil movie either. But, I saw the Tamil trailer of this movie and Vikram is far better than Abhishek, in my opinion.
While, Abhi's antics look unintentionally funny, Vikram nails the maniac act. Abhishek has brought down my initial excitement for this movie by quite a lot.
As for the music, I just heard the Tamil version of 'Behne De' on youtube and it sounded the same to me. 😆

i think Beera has a bit more life than its tamil version 'Veera', and yes Vikram i think would be leaps and bounds better than Abhi. its not do much that Abishek can't do well, but i dont see the on-screen chemistry between him and Aish as been something worth watching.
Abishek was suppoesed to be in the tamil one as well, to be Aish's husband, so t he leads in each movie would switch roles for the other language version. But they gave the role to prithviraj instead because abhishek felt he couldnt master the tamil dialouge.

Yeah a lot of people were confused on the role switch, and the trailers arnt exaclty 'revealing' about the nature of the film and characters minus the leads. Im pretty sure things will get cleared up once it releases. ahhhh 3 more days! im so excited

vikram literally eats up the entire cast in terms of performance. It is impossible to take your eyes off him when he's on screen. I am more excited for the tamil version coz i love both prithvi and vikram....not that fond of abhishek though. But im gonna catch the hindi version first anyway coz thts the one which releases at my place.
