I feel the choreography in films is deteriorating day by day. I remember the 70s, 80s and 90s had really good choreographed songs. some of them were: Choli ke peeche - khalnayak
Maangta hai kya, rangeela re - Rangeela
hoton pe aisi baat - jewel thief
mujhko hui na kabar - dil to pagal hain
chura ke dil mera - main khiladi tu anari ( i simply loved the way shilpa and akshay grooved to this)
I know there are many more. Which songs do you guys think had breakthrough choreography among the old and new films as well?😊

i guess it depends on your perception. I normally felt tht although old 70's, 80's 90's songs were acclaimed in terms of choreography, i found them pretty vulgar and cheap, with all the pelvic thrusts and OTT expressions especially the 80's and 90's movies. The 70's werent vulgar but they were unintentionally funny..lol. Today the choreography is more stylized and keeping in with the mood of the film, which is what i like. I prefer today's choreography more than the yester year ones. But thts just my opinion. :)

Yes, got to admit the come 90s and the dance moves started to get vulgar. However, i feel Madhuri always did justice to her dance moves with grace. the choreography these days look like just routine dance exercise and hip hop. the songs are also shot only in clubs and discs, hence they all look the same.
among the new ones, Masakali (Delhi 6) seems to be noteworthy for me.

oh yes...the club/pub/disco songs are highly irritating and repetitive. but i do like the choreo of songs like masakalli, yeh ishq hai (JWM), dhoom again(dhoom 2), khwaja mere khwaja(jodhaa akbar), chabeela(saawariya), yoon shabnami(saawariya), pyaar ki yeh kahaani suno(honeymoon travels pvt ltd) ....atleast they didnt grate on my nerves and compel me to close my eyes or turn off the tv.

But when it cums to the 70's 80's 90's choreo, yes madhuri was awsome in her dances....she carried off the most vulgar luking steps with dignity...same with sridevi and karishma kapoor..but i really luv watching classical dances and feel we should incorporate more of tht in our cinema.
movies like umrao jaan, devdas (SLB one) etc had me spellbound with their choreography. The last movie i saw which had a classical dance number was bhool bhulaiyaa...vidya was alrite but the dude who was dancing with her was awesome...its a pity tht makers dunt utilize the wide variety of dancing styles and forms we have in india.
