There's too many songs in bollywood movies...I know that's their uniquness, but it sumtimes get's side tracked from the overall story....back in the day, it was a guy chasing girl through random places and randomly start singing and dancing with random people randonly jumping in...now, it's the characters ending up in random clubs and the girls dance (no objection here)...dun mind song in BG with the story continuing but spending time showing dancing and stuff is what I don;t like...how many people actually sit through the songs (unless they mad good) instead of forward through them on DVD's....

as I typed all that, I realized all of it was useless considering what I'm really wondering...
Are Hollywood movies without songs and dancing and direct to the plot and development of climax and all that stuff better than Bollywood movies with songs and dancing and spending mad time telling this guy loves this girl, but the girl demands to be chased in order to fall in love with the guy
(sayiing all this after watching Housefull then Iron Man 😆 while kinda thinking about Prince)

yea...

Well most Bollywood movies are rather stereotyped and have weaker plots and lower budgets too. Generally songs and dances are a must for Bollywood movies in order to attract viewers. Even in some serious and pretty good scripts and superb actings in Bollywood movies they always require a few songs to express the emotion and sentiment.
Hollywood too tactfully uses certain a song or two in movies eg. Ghost, Tootsie etc

This actually reminds me of what Abhishek Bachan said on Oprah's show some time back, about why he prefers having songs in bollywood movies, to sensuous scenes in hollywood movies.

Well simply put, songs are more fun man! 😆

Personally, as an adult, I have problem with none. I think everyone differs in their choices, but being a music lover, if one knows how to integrate songs in the plot, I see no harm. I lately saw how Karan Johar included 5 or so songs in his movie 'My Name is Khan', all superbly mixed with the storyline. I must say, for starters, I was really, really impressed! And what's more, they were beautiful songs, nearly all of them!

On the other hand, when we talk about sensuous scenes, there's the certificate tag, of whether they'll be able to pass the censor board! I personally have no problem with a scene, aesthetically shot, however much it reveals, because I think it's entirely the director's and the actors' of how much they want to show or conceal. Also, I don't think sex scenes are such a hoolahou! After all, these things are part of, an integral part even, of any couple's life. The hitch is, these scenes are more used in Bollywood for the promotion and advertisement of the movie, rather than subtly explaining why and how they fell into love and ended up making love. It's really unfortunate that in some parts of Bollywood-watching regions, this issue still seems tabooed.

Whats annoying In bollywood dancing is that they have like 1000 people dancing behind each movie star or couple.

Hello P1nk have a great time.
Perhaps the director wants to provide employment to all the extra dancers.😆

Good quality songs, well executed can enhance the entertainment value of a movie. There are several movies that had excellent melodious songs that you do not mind watching over and over again. Actually even Hollywood has musicals with random song and dance sequences: Disney's Enchanted, 500 days of Summer, Mama Mia, HSM series - and I am a sucker for musicals.

As for sensuality goes

Megan Fox vs Giant Robots wreaking havoc making loud noises?

There is only so far Robots could go.
