This actually reminds me of what Abhishek Bachan said on Oprah's show some time back, about why he prefers having songs in bollywood movies, to sensuous scenes in hollywood movies.
Well simply put, songs are more fun man! đ
Personally, as an adult, I have problem with none. I think everyone differs in their choices, but being a music lover, if one knows how to integrate songs in the plot, I see no harm. I lately saw how Karan Johar included 5 or so songs in his movie 'My Name is Khan', all superbly mixed with the storyline. I must say, for starters, I was really, really impressed! And what's more, they were beautiful songs, nearly all of them!
On the other hand, when we talk about sensuous scenes, there's the certificate tag, of whether they'll be able to pass the censor board! I personally have no problem with a scene, aesthetically shot, however much it reveals, because I think it's entirely the director's and the actors' of how much they want to show or conceal. Also, I don't think sex scenes are such a hoolahou! After all, these things are part of, an integral part even, of any couple's life. The hitch is, these scenes are more used in Bollywood for the promotion and advertisement of the movie, rather than subtly explaining why and how they fell into love and ended up making love. It's really unfortunate that in some parts of Bollywood-watching regions, this issue still seems tabooed.
