Sunidhi Chauhan Appreciation Thread

Indian Idol 5 is lucky to have a great female singer like Sunidhi Chauhan on the judges' panel. She has an amazing voice and awesome vocal skills.

Despite having no formal training whatsoever, Sunidhi has trained her voice so well that she can adopt styles as various as classical and hiphop. This is the result of great dedication and hard work, which she has put in since she was just four years old! She was just a girl of 12 or 13 when she won the Meri Awaz Suno contest, judged by classically trained greats like Manna Dey, Lata Mangeshkar and Pandit Jasraj. There were people twice and thrice her age in the competition, but Sunidhi won and got Lataji's blessings.

In a music world dominated by thin, sugary sweet female voices, Sunidhi was the first to break the mould with her more bassy voice and sing mainstream Bollywood songs. Her versatile voice allows her to sing all kinds of songs (literally all kinds!) and for every heroine! There is no doubting her capability. If anything, her songs have not done justice to her ability - she can reach even greater heights if given the chance. Having sung for music directors like Anu Malik, Vishal-Shekhar, Pritam, Salim-Sulaiman, A R Rahman and Ismail Darbar, she is continuously exploring newer facets of her voice.

Sunidhi is one of THE best singers of the world!! I don't think there can be any other person like Sunidhi.. she's amazingly talented. ⭐️

Sunidhi is truly phenomenal...She has like a MAGICAL voice that every time u hear, u wanna be on ur feets dancing. She rocks the stage everytime!!

And she was looking really pretty in the Ahmedabad audition 😳

Sunidhi Chauhan. First of all, great to see her as a judge!


She is my favorite female playback singer of all-time. Also, she is the most talented female playback singer in bollywood today. Also the most versatile. Her singing ability is beyond any other female playback singer. Sunidhi Chauhan is just amazing!


Debuting in 2000, in her very first song she was nominated for filmfare playback singer of the year. She was only 16 at the time, becoming the youngest ever to be nominated for playback singer. So as you can tell, she was ahead of her time. Early on her career, it was amazing what types of songs she was able to sing, her voice was very mature for her age. And the patten of amazing continued.


Following Sunidhi Chauhan all her career, feel very lucky to have grown up listening to Sunidhi Chauhan's singing. It's been a pleasure. And I think there is a lot more for her to accomplish, and she will accomplish it all.

She was really looking great in that blue costumes and surely would add as a great judge for idol 5.

BTW she started her bollywood career in 1999 singing with sonu nigam in a RGV movie.

Sunidhi Chauhan, words are less to explain the talent that this lady has in her voice. The most amazing thing about her is that she is not classically trained but still can sing almost all genre of songs, whether it is a jumpy number like "Beeri Jalai Le" from Omkara, or whether it is a soft mellow number like "Mere Haath Mein" from Fanaa - Sunidhi can sing anything!
