Valli tells her father to have some kanji, he says he would rather have some moar. Thinai comes to his house, he says he is ready, Valli brings some moar which her father asks Thinai to take. Just then, his BIL comes with bananas. After giving it, the BIL - name Villaala, says he has something to say. It seems everyone is talking about Valli and her going around with the fake Shanmugam. Visaaga (Valli's dad) gets angry, but Villaala says that if people talk when they are trying to fix her wedding, how will she get married? Villaala says he has a solution, marry her off to him(he keeps referring to her as Maragatham), so she will now be VM. VM is not interested in marrying him. Thinai is quiet during all this, Villaala asks him to say something, he tells VM to get married to Villaala and tells Visaaga to talk to VM and do the needful. Villaala says that now he is to get married to VM, Visaaga should go and get Poli for him!
Procession with band and dance, Villaala asks why all this when they are only going to get approval for the wedding. The women are carrying honey and fruits, oil and maavu, Visaaga says that this is the custom. They are going to get uttharavu from someone for the wedding. Visaaga explains the reason for the seeru. An old woman comes out of her hut, and Thinai explains why they have come, and asks Villaala and VM to fall at the old woman's feet. Old woman asks for a soru paanai, asks for VM's date of birth and says she has deva jaadagam and is Valli herself. Then she asks about Villaala, and says that he was born on sooniya thithi and asks them all go out. Villaala wants to stay, but Thinai asks him to listen to Kankaani (old woman). Kankaani tells Thinai that this wedding must not take place because there is no poruttham and she will get someone with deva amsam. She insists that the marriage must not take place.
The mantharavadi is doing some stuff with asari sitting in front of him. Just then, Guhan appears in front of him, and does something so that Seth and his man both go to sleep. Manthravadi asks Who are you, and then he suddenly realizes something, says Neengala Ayya, falls at Guhan's feet, asks for forgiveness. Guhan tells him not to misuse manthiram, he says Sorry, then G goes to the asari and calls him Appa and takes him away. Then Seth and his man wake up, ask where the asari is, manthravadi explains that the boy is the guru for all siddhars, and asks to be let off this job and goes.
Thinai comes to where everyone is waiting, they ask why he is not saying anything, he tells Villaala that this wedding should not take place, Villaala gets angry and does not believe him. Visaaga and others try to calm him, but he says he will not allow this, he is being insulted. Visaaga gets angry, Thinai tells him to calm down, Villaala threatens to carry VM away and tie a thali around her neck and Thinai tells him that if he tries to do that, he will not be alive. Villaala leaves in a huff. Thinai tells them all to go back without any fear.
