Shaan and KK

Thye both are great and versatile singers...and I love them both. they are my favourite male singers in Bollywood as of today. In fact, probably most songs today are divided between these two, and they control the industry like Kishore and Rafi jee did, whereas on the other hand Shreay and Sunidhi rule.

Hi Minty Blue. the very first time I heard KK was on the soundtrack of "Jhankaar Beats", and I got KK mixed up with Shaan - until I looked at the credits for the songs. KK is definitely one of my favorites - his highs are unmistakeable.

Both of them are excellent playback singers. Its true that at times it hard to distinguish who is who based on vocal behind the song. They do have similar voice texture too. I agree with above poster than Shaan does have more bass on his voice . KK high notes are way better than Shaan. Just listen to his performance in TADAP TADAP. Both of them have melodious voice, suits romantic songs. However KK has huge advantage over Shaan in rock songs. I consider Sonu, Shaan and KK top three playback singers in bollywood right now. However KK is my personal favorite

I don't usually have trouble distinguishing between their voices actually... I think they have the most unique voices, especially Shaan. Shaan's voice quality is a rare gem. I can never get it mixed up with KK's voice.

KK has a very lovely, urban voice - his voice sounds like the voice of any young Indian. His voice suits all the actors because of this. I love KK's singing because of his high notes and his amazing emotion. Of course, his forte is soft rock these days but he can sing a wide range of songs... Like slumdog said, just look at 'Tadap Tadap' - this is a very earthy Indian song but KK, who has no formal training, sang it so well. In fact, this KK reminds me a lot of the other versatile, self-trained KK (Kishore Kumar) of yesteryears...

Both of them are awesome singers and we're lucky to have such great voices to hear!

I think kk is way better than shaan. Both their styles are great, but kk has a much better voice, and although even kk is slightly nasal sometimes, it is shaan who really sings nasally sometimes. As said by a few ppl here, kk is amazing with high notes here. Also kk is better at live performances, in which shaan is pretty bad. Sonu is nowhere near kk or shaan, so there isnt any real top 3,(not including popularity). Sonu is nasal in the high pitch, a real shame for any disciple of rafi saahab. Also his harkateins are overdone and his voice and style are better suited for highly sentimental songs.

But please dont compare their abilities or popularity with rafi or kishore. When latha wanted to get royalties from hmv, they said they would only if rafi would say yes. This sort of power isnt possessed by kk, shaan or sonu nigam(who was told by vidhu vinod to f^^^ off when he asked for FIFTY PERCENT ROYALTIES.)

Right now KK is better than Shaan and Sonu.

For me Shaan and Sonu are more favourite than KK (personal fav)
