Will 'Chingari' illuminate Sushmita Sen's career?

Kalpana Lajmi yoked the stunning and glamorous Sushmita Sen with National Award Winner Mithun Chakraborty for her next film titled 'Chingari'. The film is written by Bhupen Hazarika and the story elicits the gray side of the lives of the prostitutes.

Sushmita Sen enacts the pivotal role of a prostitute named Basanti, Mithun Chakraborty is Bhagwan Pandit, a Kali devotee who possesses two varied shades in his character; a devout spiritual leader and on the other hand is passionate about prostitutes. Anuj Sawhney plays a 25 year post man though younger than Basanti, but loves her more than life. According to the director, Chingari will cast light on the lesser known aspects of the live of sex workers.

Kalpana Lajmi is assertive about Chingari and is also molding her next project regarding the life of Devdasis (temple singers) and it is a love story against the backdrop of the dwindling devdasi culture with Rekha and Priyanka Chopra playing the major roles.
