Shiv = Perfect but Unreal?

Please don't get me wrong, I love Shiv and always have. He is the guy every girl dreams of, a perfect gentleman, a great listener, so understanding and lovingly caring! But I also believe that there is no such thing as perfection. We are all human beings, and as much as we hope we will get such perfect partners, they don't exist! I'm glad that YRF gave us Mahi, a female protagonist who for once isn't perfect, who has her fears and shortcomings.

Shiv is a great guy, but so far we have only seen his greatness. Not even once have we seen anything wrong or bad at all. That, to me at least, seems a bit unreal. There has to be one bad habit in Shiv or one mistake he has made in the past... or at least one weakness, shortcoming?

I sincerely hope that in the coming episodes we see something about Shiv that brings him closer to reality. (The way Viraf portrays Shiv makes us fall in love with him instantly, but so far he has been a static character, I want to see a dynamic Shiv). Mahi has opened up in front of him, and I hope soon she will give him a chance to talk about his past, his habits too. This is important because I don't want Mahi to fall in love with the perfect Shiv... I want her to fall in love with Shiv who has his own issues but accept him in spite of or actually with them... Just like Shiv has.

I know right!😆
But the thing about Shiv is he is extremely cool. Like he is a gentleman but in a annoying do good boring sort of way. That makes him normal in my eyes.

With Ishaan's character ruined hope we get more of Shiv.

mahi, dont know why u think he is 'unreal' type😆. Is it bcoz , he didnt look surprised or hurt when he heard mahi's ' confession'? if its so, then blame it on the modern 'westernized' concept. Mahi's way depicts a world where all these things are the 'reality'

@Fatima - Oh, good point! But I still want his character to develop more... so that we get to see some imperfection in him.

@Shamil - No, that's not why I find Shiv unreal. (In fact, I do think he was hurt when he heard about Mahi-Ishan. His expressions were quite casual before but when he heard this there was grave seriousness on his face... He didn't show it for longer because he didn't want Mahi to feel worse about it). I said that because so far we haven't seen anything wrong in him... Like for Mahi, her fears, low self confidence etc. etc. make her kind of 'normal.' Just like she said in the end of this episode, we all have our fears which makes us normal. We don't know any such thing about Shiv.... not yet. And I want him to share his problems with Mahi just like Mahi has... so we get to see his character develop more. Hope I made sense.

mahi, they havent shown much of him either to know whether he has any flaws! we have seen very few moments of shiv and that too it was almost like a glimpse and then gone ( except the last epi). So how do we know he is a perfect guy 😆. Yes he lends a sympathetic ear to her ..and guess what even I am that😉. But that alone doesnt make anyone perfect. I want them to show more of shiv's personal life tp prove he is what he appears to be😊

I guess till now there has been no scope for showing the negative points in the character of Shiv.

I'm certain we will see the the weaker side of Shiv as the Shiv-
Mahi relationship progresses.

That is SO what I want to see. I don't want to see a one-sided relationship where Shiv's doing all what he can for Mahi and Mahi is busy crying in his arms. We already have too many such pairs on television. I want them BOTH to share their problems and solve them mutually

I know what you mean Mahi, Shiv is almost too perfect.

I do take into account that we've barely seen any of him to know if he has any flaws or not but as time goes on I do want to see him having a few problems of his own, or tying up a few problems from before. And this time I want Mahi feeling like she needs to repay back the favour he showered on her, that's what makes a successful relationship - cooperaition from both parties.

I agree with your analysis of Shiv's character and his perfection. The reason I am drawn towards Mahi way is because it's character are real and meaty, just like in life there is never a black or white, it is never that simple, likewise characters of Mahi way have a shade of gray and thats what makes them human and relatable.
Like you pointed out we are yet to see the gray side of Shiv, and I am sure he has some skeletons in his closet or a flaw in his personality, or so I hope.
