Latest news reports say that India's role is viewed postively around the world . A survey was done with 33 countries around the world .

Here's the link .

I am personally pleased with the results . What is your opinion ?

Always beware of statistics. They are bikinis after all.

Just 33,000 odd people were interviewed over 30 odd countries. Makes that about 1,000 people per country.

Now consider India.

Out of these 33,000 people, about 3,300 (10%) have a negative view and about 7,500 (22/23%) have a positive one.

Now factor in the lowest margin of error - 2.5%. That makes about 4,100 negatives and 6,700 positives. This difference of 2,600, about 8%, is hardly any cause for comfort and cheer.

As far as India is concerned, this survey means nothing.

I don't think the survey means anything.

But survey does convey that India is on course and it also tells us the final goal post is beyond the sensex mark.
India cannot be summed up easily but yeah finally we can say we are getting there, despite several false starts.

Fortunately we have books/ best sellers like "The World is Flat- History of the world in the 21st Century " by Thomas Friedman conveying exactly the same thing . That India has a postive image Internationaly for people who don't care for surveys . 😉
