Yesterday I was raving about the 4 of 4 that we received from the Creatives team this week. I was hoping to say 5 of 5 today but was slightly disappointed.....

There were some cute scenes between Dev and Radhika on their honeymoon and it is a pleasure to watch Radhika on one hand enjoying the moments alone with Dev in a faraway land, away from the peering eyes of the well-wishers and not-so-well-wishers! She is also aware that Dev needs to be perked up from his serious bout of guilt and she goes all out.
Some silliness always follows the sublime, so they introduced the club scene. Did they really need it? Can't the "Stranger" be introduced some other way....? Oh well. You win some, you lose some.
I can overlook the silliness as we were also introduced to the "Stranger" planted by Mrinu to yet again create havoc in RaDev's life. I am not sure that what Mrinu thinks will happen, will happen. We will just have to wait and see, but it was good cliffhanger to see where this storyline is headed.
I have one request to the Creatives..... please, let Radev get stronger and united in their fight, whatever it may be. I do want to see Dev mature and RaDev handle their RP responsibilities together and not apart.
The award of the day goes to Daadima and Vaishali and specifically Vaishali for saving the day and stopping the prashad to touch Vishakha's mouth...... it was bad enough to see it in Vishakha's hands. Vaishali's words were so to the point and superb!
Vishakha on the other hand is learning a few truths about her life! I loved the entire part with the Sadhu and the prashad.... Vishakha and Amma heard how Vishakha has destroyed all that she could have had and also how she SNATCHED away something that was never hers to begin with. Vaishali spared no words when she said how Vishakha went about destroying the PF reputation and how her current status is no more than a needy person's, a person seeking refuge from the owner of the house. I loved how she said it.
I am going to digress here... In the US, at Christmas time each year, they show an oldie called "Its a wonderful life" with James Stewart, my favorite oldies actor. He plays George Bailey who thinks of ending his life when things are going drastically bad for him and his guardian angel shows him how his life has affected people around him in the positive way. George has a revelation and fights back to escape death.
Today in a slightly different manner, if Vishakha has her druthers about her, she can see how she is personally responsible for what has happened to her life and how at Amma's instigation and encouragement she has made all the wrong choices and has now ended up as a dependent of the very family that despises her. She has to shed the same tears that Radhika had to shed living under Amma as Shashtriji's protege. Radhika despite having nothing and facing daily verbal and physical abuse made all the right choices. Radhika is so much respected in the household that Vishakha felt was her right and could not and did not want to maintain. She is hated in PB and cannot go back to VN. Will she turn her life around? Will she finally stand up to Amma and be Amma's punishment? Who knows?
Today Vishaska's haalat is like the dhobi's kutta - na ghar ka, na ghat ka!
How sublime!

Great thoughts, Gardes

Your points abt Vish are very well made. I was very glad when vaishali spoke up and told the world that the first marriage to vish was a mistake. I think vish needed to hear that.

Radev moments were very cute and seemed natural ... would have liked them to show more of it

The club/hotel? scene was corny ... but I liked watching their dance

I am actually enjoying rads in her new role ... and dev too ... a little bit more serious, pensive but attentive and loving at the same time

Gardes,
My thoughts: The last part of the episode was forced to create suspense as they just messed up their editing. So, scenes from day2 were forcibly shown to enable the photography of the stranger as that scene is probably the only one where he could RAdhika's pictures without Dev. In all other Malaysia shooting, Dev and Radhika are close to each other.
The club scene was silly, but they wanted to show movie type entry of a new character. Loved the song and the dance as I wanted Dev and RAdhika to dance on this during the holi and they messed up holi for the viewers.
The message on the flower was silly. Since they wanted to differentiate between tum and aap and couldn't do that in English, they wrote it in Hindi. Plus they gave a ridiculous dialogue to Dev about hotel not knowing HIndi in Malaysia. They didn't know the difference between tum and aap, but can write in Hindi. Please don't give this type of dumb dialogues to Dev.
Dev's cultural lecture was kind of laugable. Wasn't sure if they wanted Dev to tease Radhika for her boldness or he was being pompous so that Radhika can shown to be making an initiative in holding hands (sort of parallel to our old Dev of two weeks ago). I think the writers have changed and they are writing for Radhika and are now making Dev look silly sometimes. But, other than these two lines, Dev's character was written in a nice way. He is now looking mature and serious, but still loving and attentive towards Radhika. He showed glimpses of old Dev while dancing.
Still highlights of the episode were moments between RAdhika and Dev and Vaishali's commentary. She was excellent and loved that she blasted Vishaka. It was long overdue. Dadi was right in calling Vishaka shameless. She is being insulted so much and still doesn't want to go back to Vrindavan because she is like a leech and wants to take away Radhika's rights. I am glad that Vaishali said that the first marriage was a mistake that was never meant to happen. Vishaka has an audacity to take prasad or feel hurt at not being called CB as she was never that in the first place. I wish Amma could be given this kind of talk by Vaishali and Dadi someday.

Gardes today show was just okay for me, i only enjoyed the radev parts and vaishali was excellent. I didnt like how they showed this stranger in almost all of radev scenes, whats up with him he is suffering from some malfunction in the brains syndrome, i dont know what lie mrinalini obviously fed him but he is sure in for a heart break in the future bcoz rads is sirf dev's.

Gardes, I thought the stranger had a wife that looked like Rad and maybe she's dead. And this stranger loved his wife alot. Mrin is planning to separate RaDev & she called the stranger. And now the stranger will never be able to tolerate Rad with Dev.

Thanks, Rajsri. I was not a big fan of the club scene either. I like the serious Dev. The playful, flirty Dev was appropriate for the role back then. Now life has changed for him and as I said a few days back, we will see more range in Avinash's acting.

Gardes,
You started your post, saying that ydays episode was a 4/4 and would todays be a 5/5?
I read the whole post today and couldn't decipher whether for you it was really at 5/5?

In one word if I have to describe todays episode, it would be "filler".

There was nothing in the episode today that did not happen before.
* Radhika trying to pull Dev out of guilt? Yes, Radh is at it from Vishaka miscarriage episode and she did a great job of it yday. Today again the same thing? And the repeat didn't surpass the previous. So, a total 0 there.
* Vishaka humiliated in front of all in PB and made to cry? Has this not happened before and more so, since her reentry in PB? Was that scene required today? Same drama? 0 again.
* Okay, what else was there? Aaah the introduction of the new character. Was there any reason to introduce that guy in a club/pub? No creativity. Okay, will you tell me its bcos RaDev were in pub? Lets see that,
* Now, was that RaDev in club/pub required? To show what? That Radhika could dance on a bollywood number? 2. Or Radhika could get bolder day by day to draw Dev out of his guilt? The latter, I have already answer above. So, lets see the former - Now, how different is this Radhika dancing on bollywood number from the Radhika who was drunk in Goa singing 'zara sa jhoom lun mein' ? Only that, this time she wasn't drunk? If you ask me, at that time (during Goa episode), we all (some of us) had problem believing it is not the same simple Radhika of VR and it was so not her to sing a bollywood song. It was the same for me today. I did not see Radhika as The Radhika today. So a total 0 there again.
Now coming to Dev, Radhika wants to draw Dev out and wants to hold his hand. Thats sweet. But what did Dev do? OMG he is reminding her of humare desh ka snaskaar? Hmm, looks like Dev forgot that he has held Radh's hand not in a phoren land, but in our very own VR! Forgotten Dev? Or like Radh, are you also not The Dev? 0 again.
What is left? Yes, there was 1 small saving grace to the whole episode and it was somewhere hidden in Vaishali's dialogue when she is mad at Vishaka for receiving the prasad from that Guru. Vaishali says, "We are still paying for something wrong that happened a long time back". There, in that dialogue, I found that the creatives made a link back to some very old episode, as old as Jan/Feb of 2009 when Dev no longer can hide his feelings and tells Vaishali that Vishaka is not the girl of his dreams and nor that he wanted to marry her. Just for this 1 bit dialogue, I will give 0.5 marks to the creatives.

Overall 0.5/10 !!! (for reference, my rating for ydays episode is 10/10)!!!

Thanks for posting your thoughts, why.

In all other Malaysia shooting, Dev and Radhika are close to each other. - I liked the RaDev scene at the end, but I agree with you it was an add-on.
The club scene was silly, but they wanted to show movie type entry of a new character. Loved the song and the dance as I wanted Dev and RAdhika to dance on this during the holi and they messed up holi for the viewers. - I am not big fan of Bollywood dances and thought the club scene was unneccesary.
- Some silliness can be ignored and fast forwarded. There are ways flowers left on doorsteps can be explained but the Creatives lack creativity.
Dev's cultural lecture was kind of laugable. Wasn't sure if they wanted Dev to tease Radhika for her boldness or he was being pompous so that Radhika can shown to be making an initiative in holding hands (sort of parallel to our old Dev of two weeks ago). He is now looking mature and serious, but still loving and attentive towards Radhika. He showed glimpses of old Dev while dancing. - Again it is a matter of uncreativity. I laughed at Dev's words and then he puts his arm around the shoulders. Silliness. I like the current Dev and want to see more and definitely more of the same in Radhika.
Thanks Sun. I too liked some of Radhika and Dev's scenes in some instances and I am intrigued by the new person in the show. I like your "malfunction in the brain syndrome" description. We'll just have to wait and see how he interacts with RaDev.

Thanks, Samia. I don't know where the "Stranger" story is going. It seems to point to a Radhika look alike! We will just have to wait it out.
