Nope, there are some of us who choose to steer clear only because we would rather avoid. Instead of trying and talking to people who refused to see beyond their preconceived notions and ideas to have a logical and sane discussion.

If that makes us a softie than so be it

Trust me you are not the only one. Some of us prefer to stay away from this negativity as we care for our mental peace more. Because for us, entertainment should never be exhausting.

You are right that sometimes it is disturbing to see people here harbor such intense hate for fictional characters 24/7. They dont want to see/hear anything beyond their twisted notions. Also the language used here and the hatred shown is something no one can take!

Just Fyi, atleast one thread in this forum used to be a fun place for some of us, where we keep things light hearted. Not anymore!

Happy to see someone new joining here and casually dropping truth bombs about everything smiley36

Same, same and same. I’m dead bored at home, so I’m watching and engaging all kinds of stuff in at least 4 languages. Naturally I don’t remember every little thing anymore! Gone are the days when I knew exactly what happened on our 7th standard trip phase!

That’s stupidity smiley29

Personally I don’t involve myself in fan wars and ignore things which I find abusive. Similarily You also need to learn what to ignore and when to speak .

Grouping / fan war happens in every forum since ages smiley36 let them fight , no need to read each and every content , argue with non existing people and for actors / characters and do not takes sides.

Rest is upto your own mind , Sab faltu ki cheez hai , time pass karo and jyada Load ni lena kisne kya kaha , Kab or kyu kaha smiley36 we don’t know here anybody personally . Jisko ladna hai lade smiley36 and who loves peace will find a way smiley16

Hi there, you’ve probably been around here for quite a while, right? I feel like I used to see you before.

I get what you’re saying. Most of the time I just ignore it too. This was more of a passing thought that came up, maybe because I was reading something on psychology. Normally I wouldn’t even mention it, but today I just felt like wondering out loud.

I was just searching for that one helpful thread and somehow landed in a jungle of encryptions even build engineers wouldn’t need 😅. Hope I don’t get sabotaged for wandering here.

I will agree, just pray they touch some grass cos this mish hate and frustration , even virtually, is never good for anyone.

I'm going back to reading cover to cover, or find old movies to watch 😃

I used to have some meaningful, non-judgmental fun conversations occasionally on IF. But now it feels like walking on eggshells. You could say something casually, without any preconceived notion. And suddenly people gang up on you. Direct shaming, threats, like it's some political argument: "You are trying to whitewash" (why though?), "Go cry, your fav is worse" (whose fav? Lol).

And god forbid you're slightly off remembering some old detail-they'll blow it into a full-blown saazish episode. Criminal Justice: India, but for forums.

@bold ganging up on someone to mock their opinion happens here, a person can get affected because of it, even if the person isn't abusing or namecalling their favorite character, just giving their opinion in a fun or sarcastic way, or even in a serious way sometimes. Having objection even with that is quite common here. Opinions can change. Where is the rule book that states you have to praise your favorite character's goods or ignore their wrongs, without criticizing them? Or you cannot dislike the character you once liked? Or you cannot support sideys or cameos? Or you cannot make fun of characters with the people who dislike or previously abused your favorite character? Isn't it personal choice? In a season you like same characters but in next one you can like different characters right? Who is more important? People whom you call haters or your favorite character that will end someday or your favorite actor who doesn't even know about you? Can't we be considerate towards each other? For me, if I hurt real people for fictional characters, I'm doing it wrong. Then we say, it's all writers' fault, yes it is but character, shouldn't be criticized? What if a character instead of getting redeemed is glorified repeatedly? For you he might be redeemed but for me he is glorified. Isn't that just a difference of opinion that can be ignored?

There was an actor in rishta, I don't have any personal liking for actor or the character. What if an actor was abused and namecalled by "fans" not "haters" for an opinion, they created ruckus on SM, even though he didn't say anything bad/wrong, people celebrated his exit saying "yeh hota hai humarey favorite sey panga lo toh" something like that. For me fans (who are not termed haters) made that situation and many others worst. Why the director who abused mothers and sisters of so called haters in retaliation being hailed? (my personal opinion).

Calling out abuse and namecalling or hatred for a fictional character is fine, I myself called out (during initial months) but then I stopped thinking that it won't end so better stay in your lane. But categorizing every single opinion under same category of hatred for a fictional character, isn't it unfair? Preaching without practicing is also common here, I also end up doing so. Won't talk about anybody else but myself, If I want to invest my time and energy for a character I dislike, it's my choice. I won't say freedom of speech everytime as this is a public forum so, if my speech and post is problematic, report the post. Regarding abusing and namecalling posts, or posts you find repulsive, you can either ignore though there are few you can't ignore, there is a block option. Feel free to block. If you want to report a post, then report it three times. If you want that post gone, ask your friends to report it too, thrice.

A/N: Long paragraphs but I have to vent it out. Ignore smiley36

Forget the one SwarmB attack I got just for casually thinking out loud 😂

Season 4 itself has been a mess. After some initial potential, it went downhill fast.

But what really surprises me is the forum itself. The level of name calling and negativity here is insane. I don’t even understand half the nicknames people use (probably because I wasn’t around for the older seasons’ drama), but just scrolling through sometimes is enough to make me want to log off.

And yet some of you are here every single day, fully engaged with all this chaos. I genuinely wonder, doesn’t it get exhausting? Doesn’t that constant toxicity affect your mental health? Or do you somehow get used to it?

Whether this place feels positive or negative depends on your threshold, what is toxic to one might just be venting to another. The negativity here mirrors the messy, toxic writing of the show, so strong reactions are inevitable. Some visit religiously maybe addiction, maybe just fun with like-minded people. You will see folks advising mental peace, yet tracking every comment 😂. Expecting everyone to think like you won’t work. Ignore, block, or scroll past what bothers you, but don’t complain if it messes with your peace when you choose to read it. Learn to be less addicted.

And I think you are right on track being an occasional visitor its the best way to enjoy the fun without getting drained by all the chaos.

I don't have a problem with anyone, just wondered why it feels like every thread circles back to the same name-calling and negativity. Anyway, I'll step back from here.

I didn’t expect everyone to think alike. I just wanted to peep in and see different thought processes. Sure, we can curate a bubble today like an Instagram feed that only reinforces what we already believe, but in reality you need skills like respectful disagreement and finding middle ground too.
