March 12, 2010 Written Update
CM sends the servants away and asks Sudha if she heard right. Sudha nods. CM tells her then if that's the case, she will be going to the Sharma's personally to ask for jewelry back. Sudha tells her to wait one second, and she goes inside to her room. She brings out a stack of jewelry boxes and hands it to CM. Sudha takes off her earrings, bracelets, etc and hands them to CM. She tells her confidently that in case something like this were to happen to her later on, she thought it would be a better idea giving all this back earlier on. Sudha tells CM that there's no point in keeping things that never belonged to her in the first place. Sudha tells her that tomorrow she will go and get Jyoti's jewelry back and leaves. Uday follows after her and offers to go with her tomorrow, but Sudha tells him it's not necessary.
The next morning Kalpana shows up at Jyoti's house with the article to show her family. She hands the newspaper to KK and tells Jyoti that her article for this week will be due 2-3 days earlier. She offers to drop Jyoti at dance, but Jyoti refuses. Kalpana goes outside to her car when Sudha comes there and calls out to her. Kalpana asks Sudha if she's come to meet Jyoti, and warns her to not bring up the topic of the past. She leaves and Sudha goes inside.
Padma, seeing a simply dressed Sudha, asks if everything is ok. Sudha goes straight into Jyoti's room. Jyoti looks at Sudha and asks where her jewelry is. Sudha says nothing and instead tells Jyoti that CM sent her to give back all her stuff and bring back the jewelry she has. Jyoti tells Sudha to tell CM that she left all her jewelry there. She suddenly remembers something she still has, and hands it to Sudha. Sudha gestures towards her kangans, and Jyoti reluctantly hands them over. Sudha breaks down crying and they hug. Sudha tells her she'll go now. Jyoti stops her at the door where all the family members look on and tells her to send all her stuff to charity, since she won't need it. Sudha suddenly notices Jyoti's mangulsutra, and asks for it back. Jyoti is taken aback and hesitantly takes it off and hands it over. Sudha leaves.
Deepu is in his room, crushed. Poonam comes there and tells him that he's confused with everything that's happening. She tells him that yesterday Jyoti got a divorce and today Sudha has come asking for Jyoti's jewelry and mangulsutra. She tells Deepu that she can't believe that a family like the Vashishts could stoop so low. Poonam tells him she wants to do something, but she shakes her off and leaves.
Later, the family is discussing what happened and how disgusted they are in CM. Poonam gets up and tells Jyoti that she's confused with everything and wants answers. Jyoti asks her what she wants to know. Poonam tells her that she heard Jyoti was kicked out on the basis of being characterless. She asks Jyoti why she didn't ask help from a lawyer, why she didn't ask alimony, why she is not objecting to the allegations put to her. She asks Jyoti what she could say to her friends when they ask if her sister-in-law is characterless. Poonam tells her that she can say that its all lies, but there really is no proof. The family is stunned. End.
Next Week: CM is talking with the newspaper editor and tells him to cancel Jyoti's column. He asks the reason and she says its personal.
