i think so, because her parents are so desperate to get her married right now. they say if they wait longer, the "truth" will come out in a year's time and this marriage opportunity will no longer be there. perhaps she is pregnant from a previous lover and he refused to marry her now?

Why would you think that?

It was Jyoti who found out about her online, and then approached the Trivedis for her hand, not vice versa
The Trivedis neither agreed nor disagreed - they simply said it was Poonam's decision
Deepu got smitten by her and proposed, and they got hitched
Finally, they got married

I do think Neelam may be damaged goods, but I doubt that about Poonam. I do agree that given her non-existent domestic skills, as well as her total lack of people skills, her parents should have done some sort of an orientation for her before agreeing to her marrying. I agree that one episode may not be conclusive, but by the look of things, her mom thinks she's spoilt by her dad, and given how her dad prevents her from travelling on 2 wheelers and gets for her all sorts of expensive gifts, I'd be inclined to agree.

I do think the Sharmas need to discuss this @ some length w/ the Trivedis, so that Poonam can't suddenly call her parents and claim that she's being tortured, creating bad blood b/w the families.

Vrisha, I was talking about Neelam, the girl who will marry Pankaj (or did I get the names mixed up?). I didn't see today's episode, but in Kruthika's update, it seems that Neelam's parents are really worried that if the marriage takes one year, then the "truth" will come out and then Pankaj won't agree to marry her. What truth could come out? A child perhaps? Why else the hurry to marry her off before "things get out of hand"?

Oops, my bad!!! Yeah, that, or something else may be a possibility. I happen to think she may have been a former girlfriend of Brij or someone else, to the point of having a sexual relationship, and the reason she could not get married in Kota was b'cos this was well known, and not b'cos of Uday, Kesav-ji's claims notwithstanding.

The other possibility is that they are planning to loot the Vashisths, and Kesav-ji may be a part of their plan.

Yup, thats my exact thoughts after seeing Neelam's mom and dad freaking out after hearing it would take a year for the divorce to happen. And it really is suspicious that 'time' is such an important factor for them. Uptil now I thought it would be because Neelam has such an explosive past, there's no way they could hide it for long. But now it does seem like pregnancy may be the issue.

If pregnancy is the issue, why don't they just give her an abortion? I'm assuming that it's early enough - if it was > 2months, then they can't do much, since if she gives birth after 6-7 months, that would raise suspicions among the Vashisths.

I'm not doubting it - I'm just thinking - isn't it a lot easier to just do that and search for a normal hubby rather than try and rush a marriage to a blind divorcee? And avoid having to offer crores to the ex wife of that guy?

I also feel that Neelam may be pregnant and the parents are trying to hide that truth. So they have come begging to Jyoti to sign the papers to speed up the divorce. The best part is when Pankaj who has accused Jyoti of unfaithfulness after they were married too comes to know..coz I think that Pankaj will not consumate this marriage so easily and then when the fact that Neelam is pregs comes out, he will realize how good Jyoti was.

^^^^If that is the case, or what turns out to be the case, I'd love to see CM's face. Especially when she finds out that the special girl that she initially wanted for Uday, and then Pankaj, happened to be pregnant before she was even married. Much as she hates Jyoti & Sudha, I doubt that even she would think that a pregnant Neelam is better than a virgin Sudha.

And I'd expect Neelam & her family to loot the Vashisths if they're found out after marriage and Pankaj wants a 2nd divorce.

Oh plz CV let Neelam be pregnant talk about poectic justice. Pankaj threw his wife and unborn child out to take care of another man child OMG I would love it that would make me start watching the show again just to see CM disgrace. 😃

if Neelam is pregnant by Brij and Jyoti by Pankaj, What if they have their babies on the same day and the someone swaps them. So when Jyoti goes to prove that Pankaj is the father it turn out to be Brij. Everyone will start hating her and thinking she was lying all along.
