Commendable.
I do think, though, that it might have been in better taste to let others blare this trumpet for him by and by. Instead, he shows somewhat unseemly haste - based, no doubt, on a couple of days' efforts, given his busy schedule - to speak to the press and represent himself so prematurely as a committed social worker.
