Kools, my sides still hurt from laughing so much. Ajit with syphilis and burning sensation when he pees and pisses him off and leech on Archu's cheeks and then on Maanav's lips and the pavitra kiss! You have a wild imagination!
If that was not enough the Pavitra sniff was outrageously funny. The tape stuck to the skull... what a riot!
And just when you think you would die laughing, the Pavitra congugal union in the morgue with Ajit smoking and talking to Manjusha, just about did me in! It was brilliant, to say the least!
Thanks for making my day! 🤣

Hello all, here I am at last.
Kool you really do have a wild imagination! Isn't it fun thinking up comedy?
I do agree that Archana has taken many decisions I would call unwise and self-destructive. But I second Tanya when she says" for me being a feminist means to do what you want to do ....and if she wants to love this man then it's OK , it's her choice". Absolutely. Every woman must make her own choices based on what she believes is good for her. Scholars in current day feminist/ women's studies disagree on a variety of issues, but there is a broad consensus amongst the majority that that there is no one model for a "true/real feminist", that questions must be asked and answered and decisions taken not following some template handed to non-westerners by western feminists, or black women by their white counterparts, or even uneducated women by those who are educated. Nobody can understand our circumstances and our constraints better than we ourselves. We know best what we want and why we want it. Therefore, it stands to reason that nobody should get to tell us what to want. The value of taking this relativist approach (instead of a universalist one) on matters of gender has long been recognized.
As for the hug, it was clearly born of relief. Not an unnatural reaction, in itself. Also, it's meant to be read as one small but significant part of the very gradual normalizing of their relationship. It's unrealistic to expect more sensitive or even particularly intelligent writing from serial creatives at this point in a serial's success. It's not their job to be sensitive or intelligent; their job is maximizing the production house's revenues. If their eventual product has something good in it, ideologically, thematically, stylistically, anything at all, we should take that as our bonus. And if we feel there's absolutely nothing of value left in it any more, it's time to call it quits and turn elsewhere for entertainment.
No?

I agree with Tanyaz completely when she says doing what she feels , what pleases her is being a feminist in the true sense .
I pondered about that statement the moment she said it .........statements of that nature have a way of finding themselves to my heart .
However I do not agree that it is very wrong to expect a little bit of intelligence or sensitivity from serial makers at any point in the serial . Sure we can turn to other serials and simply stop seeing them if we wish but if they r in the business due to us and these forums r their marketing strategies into which they peep from time to time , why not ? Sometimes they do take cognizance of what viewers wish , sometimes they dont . It must be remembered that viewers spend quite some time of their daily routine watching one particular serial and it really isnt easy for them to switch to another serial just like that .That is the essential difference between a serial and a film . After investing hours of your life and interest in a storyline , if a viewer is coldly told to drop the serial and see something else .......it is a bit thick .
So no harm in suggesting sensitvity or intelligence .........positive and constructive criticism doesnt harm anyone . But yes , one should not take it too seriously and leave it at that after suggesting . Sometimes if a creative head looks up these views , he might just take it .If not . we cannot sit and seend emails after emails to plead with them to change the storyline . Trust me , some people do it . They read the promos , get all upset , start taking signatures on a consent letter , draft the letters and start faxing and mailing them to production houses . I find that really crazy .
As far as im concerned , I post for my own pleasure and fun . If someone indeed notices me ..........like in Ghar ki Laxmi Betiyaan , a supposedly feminist serial that turned out to be terribly chauvinistic , one of the mods actually pointed out to me that one of my posts had indeed been noted and the dialogue i had written was used ad verbatim in an episode . Well perhaps they had . It didnt affect me a bit as Im not that involved with the serial . Im here for my fun alone . So neither does the lead pair affect me , nor the storyline . At a certain point when it becomes non believable I simply leave . It is very easy for me .
Issues like women abuse , human rights do matter to me so as long as I watch serials I post from time to time if i see them glorified on TV a public medium . There is nothing more nauseating than abuse portrayed as a way of life . But again , I dont expect anything from my posts ...........just my own pleasure at airing my views . Opposite views don't upset me and I don't expect that production houses should notice me .
Where this serial is concerned , I think , they are portraying abuse as a way of life through the story of Archu and Manav both . Its not just Archu who suffers abuse , even Manav is in a way abused . Both of them cannot lead a single day in their life normally , or even dream of a normal moment . neither is a single emotion shown in normal circumstances . The first embrace in a hospital . The first touch again , in some crisis . Twists are necessary for TRPs but dont show abnormalities aLL the time . Thats why i had fun writing this post .
Thanks for reading and commenting ............

Kool,
I think you know that I understand your concerns and share most of them.
The point I'm trying to make is that there's a limit to which we should invest ourselves in getting hot and bothered over what's going on in a serial on a day to day basis, spending hours arguing about the respective merits and demerits of characters, what they really should have done instead, why we hate them so much etc. Serials are definitely big players in culture/ ideology wars because of the mass audiences they command. But by its very definition, the serial format calls for melodrama and sensationalism. And hunger for profits, the primary motive pushing serial makers, is one reality we cannot hope to contend or do away with. If we want artistic integrity, the serial is not the place to look for it. Likewise with progressive ideas, because the serial panders to huge sections of conservatives. (I can't imagine that the views on this forum are at all representative of any but the tiniest cross-section of PR's audience.) And likewise with aesthetic satisfaction, for what appeals to intelligent people aesthetically clearly won't sell. My choice, then, is to make my point forcefully once or twice so people know where I stand, and then step back and get on with life instead of letting each episode become a harrowing exercise in who's-the-bad-guy- today. Seriously. Again, each to her own, as always.

Only you could have come up with such punishment to Ajit and Rasika. Savita and Manjusha should be nervous by now.

'Pavitra sniff'😆😆

'Pavitra Consummation': This must be the end turn of the cycle.

👏👏👏
