Many people had asked about Rahul-Juhi's story from 'Sanjivani' and am making this post with permission.
Rahul was a big man's son who joined Sanjivani as an intern with his childhood friend Simran. In Sanjivani , he met Juhi and Omi. Juhi was a simple girl from Shimla who thought Rahul was an overgrown brat while Rahul hated Juhi's guts. They did everything from throwing orange juices , puncturing car tyres to scaring in mortuary to petty arguments. Rahul decided to teach Juhi a lesson and pretended to befriend her - Juhi was glad that Rahul's wayward days were over. Rahul held a big party at his house and deliberately made a laughing stock of Juhi.
Juhi was humiliated and totally shattered. She was depressed and Simrabn made Rahul realize what he had done to Juhi. After the incident , Rahul was apologetic but Juhi was furious and wounded- she refused to speak to Rahul or even listen to him - she tore the sorry cards , threw the teddy bears and flowers. Rahul was desperate for her forgiveness and even threatened to jump off the terrace if she didn't forgive him. Juhi didn't care. Omi and Simran told Rahul to let it be - Juhi will forgive him if she feels like.
Rahul realized that he was so desperate for her apology because he had feelings for her. Meanwhile, Juhi began to have a bent towards Shashank and Rahul was mighty jealous. Ultimately, things sweetened between them and they became friends. Rahul very sweetly and charmingly made her realize that she loved him too. His famous - Kya hum sirf dost hain was to die for.
Simran could not digest it because since childhood , she had believed that Rahul and her would be together. She wanted Rahul at any cost. Simran's father blackmailed Rahul into marrying Simran by threatening to destroy Juhi's medical career. Rahul knew that Juhi was living with the dream of becoming a big doctor. He got married to Simran and Omi was the one who both knew Rahul's situation and even supported Juhi through this time.
Marriage changed nothing. Rahul never connected to that vamp Simran and his feelings for Juhi stayed as intense as ever. Juhi wanted to hate him but could not - she took out all her emotional frustration on him. Then , Aman , an old rogue friend of Juhi was planted back into Juhi's life by Simran so that Juhi gets hooked. Juhi was glad to see Aman and she was better now but these were tough times for Rahul . He could not fight the jealousy and there were many fiery confrontations between Rahul and Juhi.

He wanted to see Juhi settled and happy and Aman was her childhood friend , so he , with a heavy heart , decided to get Aman and Juhi married - By now , Juhi knew the truth about Rahul's reason for marrying Simran and she had begun to worship him. Whatever Rahul said would be done. But as the wedding day neared , Rahul found out about the evil machinations of Aman and Simran.
Aman was murdered by Simran. Rahul could not take the character shredding of Juhi in society and inspite of being legally married to Simran, Rahul brought Juhi home by marrying her and nobody could touch her now. Rahul's family was happy because they loved Juhi - they just wondered when Simran would get lost - Simran had the support of Rahul's grandmother but lost it later . Then , Rahul's elder brother had an evil eye on Juhi but Rahul fought with everyone for Juhi. She was the only one who mattered to him.
Finally, Simran was institutionalized later, I think - she did continue harassing Rahul -Juhi even after he left her but was taken care of . Rahul-Juhi were together and towards the end of the series, we saw a few post-marital problems between them but their undying love for each-other conquered everything.Rahul was such an ideal man and he spent his whole life trying to keep every possible danger away from the woman he loved and had vowed to protect.
